When does the pacing get bad

I'd say that you're right around the point the pacing starts to take a turn for the worse, and continues to get even worse as time goes on, although, because I'm assuming you're binging the anime, it probably won't be as much of a big deal to you because you're able to immediately get to the next episode.

The arcs that were painfully slow to me were dressrosa, whole cake island, and wano. Pretty much the long arcs. I binged one piece in 3 months and honestly it wasn’t that bad it’s just that the manga handles pacing better.

pacing start get worse from marineford but u can't notice it cuz arc is soo good u would probably see the worst pacing after time skip( ep 517)

well if you're binging you don't really notice it till Fishman Island, even then it isn't that bad because, yk, you're binging it. so yeah the pacing will be terrible once you have caught up only.
and i suggest switching to one pace right about now

pacing surely is bad....but I think while binge watch it affects less...but weekly it's terrible

My advice is that watch anime as long as you enjoy then switch to manga

Well I’ve heard of one pace but idk how to watch stuff with it u have to download something right also i wanna see everything one piece has to offer cause it’s so good

ah one pace is pretty simple the arcs are listed in order in the website, just download the arc you want, and watch it from there. And as for missing stuff you won't miss anything since it's the same story. What the anime does is add padding and unnecessary flashbacks for example, in an upcoming arc you'll see a certain flashback, i kid you not, around 30 times. But in one pace it's just shown once lmao.
I suggest switching from Fishman Island arc. It doesn't really matter tho because while binging none of the arcs seem that bad maybe except for Dressrosa arc( the one i mentioned up).

Honestly every arch has poor pacing compared to the manga but post time skip is the worst IMO. Dressrosa hurt to rewatch.

I'd very much say you are at the tipping point right now since numbers wise thriller bark and the next two arcs have almost as much episodes as chapters they are adapting. the impel down arc starting at ep 422 is then the beginning of every arc having more or equal episodes to chapters where I'd say I and probably you would start to notice "wow its taking this character very long to run to this place" or every few episodes think to yourself "huh, basically nothing happened this episode"

Well on one point it depends on you.

Maybe the pacing starts to get bad for you at Marineford, or maybe Fishmen Island, or just like for probably most people at Dressrosa.

Dressrosa is the arc with worst pacing in the anime until now. Parts of Wano also come close but overall Wano is probably better. 🤔

If u dont mind the pacing 2 much now thats fine. But to not hate the series start watching OnePace. U just need to download them. The experience is much better. Almost a must in the dress rosa arc

I would actually suggest watching One Pace at the start of Marineford (457) since most people say it’s their favorite/ one of their favorite arcs. I personally didn’t love it because it was so damn slow.

if you only found the start of skipea slow, you probably won’t find the show slow. I’d say 90% of the fights in one piece feel dragged out, the first 500 ep has on and off good and bad pacing. After ep 500 I simply couldn’t with the pacing, fishman island was adapted something like .80 chapters per episode, I switched to one pace

Well despite it being awesome, Water 7 started to have a TWO AND A HALF MINUTE LONG OPENING. Then the pirate king monologue is 30 seconds. So there three minutes of every episode, THEN the recap, which is less recap and more just replaying the last few minutes of the last episode. Pretty much every episode doesn’t start until 6 or 7 minutes in. And after that and since it’s beginning One Piece FUCKING takes its time. Sometimes it’s bad pacing and other times it’s just them giving every person they can a thing to say or face to make. Still though, One Piece is literally perfect. Lol.

I would say 517, I’m a manga reader now and i switched after the dressrosa arc. (Ep 750 ish) I don’t think I would have been able to keep watching consistently but my sister got covid and I had the opportunity to binge like 100 eps, i prob would have dropped or switched far earlier

it depends on the person too i think. for people who binge it quickly it’s probably not a problem but i tend to watch shows very slowly and right now Thriller Bark is a bit of a slog. Hated Skypiea’s pacing too even tho the arc was alright.
