Kny mugen train made 21.2 million dollars in its opening weekend in U.S with 1600+ cinemas.
Jjk 0 has made 17.6 million dollars in its opening weekend in U.S with 2300-2750 cinemas.

Thats what I was curious about as well. Official twitter accounts , ComicBook and deadline have posted these numbers on their official site so they are somewhat credible but I added the note just in case because I myself was a bit skeptical. Either way, I think they calculated those numbers based on ticket sales for Sunday, and these numbers seemed to be on par with the expected gross of the weekend. If the official numbers are changed in the upcoming days, then I will update the thread as well.

Cant say. Everyone has their own preferences. I myself have yet to see this movie but I am quite interested in these numbers.

JJK 0 is great, solid 9/10, but it didn't top Mugen Train for me, which was damn near perfection.

Only Demon Slayer and 2 pokemon movies have better numbers. So, comparing jjk to ds is like comparing spider man no way home to avengers endgame. Spider man is still very successful.

Imagine normies saying: "Peaky Blinders is mid and overhyped. Just another typical crime drama show. Breaking Bad is much better lol.".

Regarding enjoyment , Both are equal
It's just story and jjk's biggest merit it's execution(it's extremely detailed power system, foreshadowing and very good writting, characters) in which it's ahead but overall enjoyment is same for both

No I am not trying to make Jjk or Kny look bad. Its just that many people end up comparing Jjk and Kny in these box office threads so I decided to post the figures myself so that people themselves dont end up fighting over comparisons later on.
Jjk 0's box office is quite impressive and as an anime lover, this and Kny's success is more than welcome by me.

Does anyone has the data regarding the number of screens Jjk0 was playing in US since I have come across couple of sources claiming that it went on to play in around 2750 screens in US, which is a good number indicating that anime is getting wider release.

Now I hope that it stays for more than just 3 or 4 weeks.
