Nope, just mononoke. I came across both of them and figured they were roughly the same with mononoke being more well-known/higher score.

Well, last three ep. of Ayakashi, will give you a background for the first three ep of Mononoke you've been missing. Especially the relationship between Kusuriuri and Kayo.
Also first three ep. of I liked more then middle 3.
