This anime doesn’t bother explaining minor things such as what exactly is going on with musicarts. It’s not something the viewer should care about. Just focus on the epic animation and don’t ask silly questions (because there’s no answer to them)

Orpheus, the last musicart is from Orphée aux Enfers (Orpheus in the Underworld) by Jacques Offenbach. In Japan, the piece is also known as Heaven and Hell.

^^^Came here to say this. I wish they'd explain more though; I get that there's metaphor bw a battle performance and a music compositional performance. Both involve self-expression and theory/tactic, but they could have reinforced this with the soundtrack, or additional lore/explaination of the mechanics of the composer and music art symbiosis. During the whole series, I felt like I missed something. Did I?
