Also, why is Zenitsu able to fight with his eyes closed? why the sudden change of personality when he closes his eyes? again, in my opinion this is lazy writing, and sure, you may disagree with it but it's an opinion nonetheless.

Yeah I'm well aware that his breathing style is thunder related, I just wished the lightning strike played a bigger role in this other than changing the hair color for no particular reason, anyway in the 2nd paragraph I meant that his lightning ability is just Ufotable flexing their muscles to show how flashy his moves are with his breathing style, like, he doesn't have lightning abilities at all, that's just the way Ufotable is showing how flashy his moves are, with lightning and all, the same way Tanjiro has water abilities but that doesn't mean that he's creating water, I guess I needed to be more precise on that.

Anyway, I agree that Zenitsu is still powerful when he's awake but why does Zenitsu have a double personality when he's asleep? why on earth does it happen without any backstory explaining it? that's just lazy writing to me.

I guess I'm just nitpicking on Zenitsu here but if something like that happened to Tanjiro (which is a character that I don't hate) then I would create the same thread too as I did here. I mean, I would understand if Tanjiro's nail grows larger once he became a demon but if he's a normal human and his nails grow larger because he got hit by a waterfall then I will need an explanation for it.

If you are watching this show for a amazing writing or a solid plot, drop it. It ain't a seinen which will focus on each character and backstory. The sole purpose of the show is fun, thrill and amazement. It doesn't matter if the last ranking protagonist defeats a top ranking opponent, it is really normal for a shonen. Unexplained development is really fine if you don't expect an explanation xD. There is no need for the writer to go deep if shallow is what the reader/viewer enjoy. Call it lazy writing but that's what helped the show reach great heights.

You also seem to have completely misunderstood the reasoning for that scene. Are you going to complain about Mitsuri’s or Rengoku’s unnatural hair colors not being explained next? lol. I also don’t see how it’s lazy. Lazy would be not including an explanation for his hair color at all (not that it needed one), or saying that he bleaches it every 6 months. This is actually something extra that was thought of that added something unique to his character. I think that’s the opposite of lazy.
