You should preferably check out shows that top the popularity charts, because even if you don't fw the genre, chances are you'll still like them.

But yeah given your preference, Attack on Titan would be your best bet.

well you might miss a few jokes because they mostly reference otaku culture, or anime culture in general, but Steins;Gate isn't a show that's known for its comedy.
You just need to know that Akihabara is an otaku hub and that's it.

The best animes to watch when your new id say are Hunter X Hunter, Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, Konosuba, One Punch Man, Food Wars, Sword Art Online, No Game No Life, Shield Hero All these are action based and good anime beginners will like. Horimiya, The Quintessential Quintuplets, Snow White with the red hair, Wolf Girl and Black Prince, Bunny Girl Senpai, Re:Life, My Little monster, My Teen Romantic Snafu, Toradora, Kimi ni Todoke: From Me to You . All those are good romance anime you will like. If you want an anime to make you cry then watch A silent voice, Anohana, Angel beats, Clannad afterstory but watch clannad first. and some animes u should watch after you have some experience like FLCL steins gate etc.

Mostly just a lot of Fan Service and often just for the sake of fan service save for a few rare occasions. In other words you’ll be getting lots of boob/butt camera angles for no reason whatsoever. Enjoy I guess lol.
