I don't think that's the case, because then it would have been mentioned in the anime. Also, if it were the case, then nobody would have had to forget anything after class end. The register that Chibiki Sensei kept to keep track of all deaths, didn't have any revords of deaths in a batch after it has graduated. |

She was a teacher a year and a half before the anime takes place and died because of the curse. And as chibiki sensei was explaining how the curse works. So there's nothing illogical about my question. She died because she was the homeroom teacher of class 9-3 that year(when she died). |

At least that's how i interpreted the story Bruh Mikami graduated 15 years before the story, and at that time she became free of the curse. But when she joined as the homeroom teacher she got cursed again. It has been mention that once a student graduates he/she gets free of the curse lol |

And they also show sakakibara's grandparents crying over the death of their TWO daughters who both die in the end, but in the start they only spoke about sakakibara's mom BC of the ilusion of the curse |

That's the reason why Sakakibara went to Yomiyoka for his aunt's funeral and met Akazawa there who lost her cousin and was crying. She didn't die before graduation lmao🤣🤣 it was her sister who died before her graduating from the class 15 years ago. She died when she became a homeroom teacher of class 9-3.
