Not sure if this should be posted here or not but I don’t really know much about light novels vs mangas so could someone just give me an overview pls.

Do light novels often get adapted into mangas?
How does the experience differ/Is there a big difference?
Are they easy to find online or in person?

And anything else that might be useful cause I may try and start getting into them.

Mangas are essentially comics and LN's are more like novels (all words with maybe a few illustration pages). In most cases it depends whatever the true source material is. For example Monogatari is a LN , but it got a manga adaptation as well. Where as Bleach's source material is a manga, but also has a LN adaptation. So it varies, I'd recommend picking up whatever the true source material is for a series you enjoy whether it be manga or LN, but if you wanted some recs for LN I could give you some.

You'll love 86 it's such a fun read, Classroom of the Elite is a good LN when you're first starting out. Monogatari is phenomenal, but if you didnt enjoy the anime then you prob wont like the LN. ReZero and konosuba are good isekai LN's, Oregairu is my fav romance LN, Violet evergarden is good if you enjoyed the anime. Kino no Tabi, Koten bu are both good, Boogiepop series is one of the classics. Those are some that come to mind off the top.

light novels have the occasional use of visuals but are more focused on imagination like a typical novel would have while a manga is a visual book with pop up words like comic books.

Light novels = reading.
Mangas = visuals and reading.

Light novels such as Classroom of the Elite, Kino's Journey, Re:Zero, Baccano, and Youjo Senki. From what I've seen, most of the LNs that get adaptations are isekai.

Yes, some Light novels do get mangas. Specifically, for manhwa and manhua, it happens almost all the time. For all the otome isekai villainess manhwa I've read, there is a novel and promo before it gets serialized. If I'm reading a manhua/manhwa and I like it a lot, I always end up checking out its novel because I don't want to wait another week for a new chapter.

The majority of the novels I've read are either Chinese or Korean and the only japanese one I'm reading right now is Kino no Tabi - which is good.

The sites I use to find english translations and read are novelupdates and wuxiaworld.

a good amount of LN's have mangas and anime, if you like those more. most likely, if they become successful enough they will make a manga for it. for example, i believe there is multiple haruhi manga, although it started off as an LN.

manga is like comics, and light novels are like books (with some pictures on the side) mostly light novels are adapted into manga, but in some cases its the other way around, you can pretty much find any manga or light novel online

1) It's rare, but not unheard of for light novels to be adapted to manga. The ones that have these adaptations come about when publishers try to milk successful novels for all the money that they can get. (Japan's business culture is very risk-adverse, so publishers love going for series that have already seen success and have developed large fanbases.)

2) Between the two, I'd say that the manga reading experience beats out the light novel reading experience. There's a lot of stuff that gets lost in the translation from Japanese to English(Wordplay in particular). While novels are dependent on small details in text, manga is simply able to get away with more because of the accompanying visuals. (If you can read Japanese, the gap between the two formats closes significantly.)

3) In person, they're about the same in terms of how easily you can find them. The only caveat to this is that light novels go out of print way faster than manga.

Example: A used lot of YenPress's Uminkeo manga adaptation(Originally a visual novel) is on sale at ebay for the low low price of $1800 (This is actually pretty cheap, considering that a new copy of Volume 1 was going for a grand a couple of months ago.)
