Any theory on how Sakura and Tae is related

As seen in the anime, Tae is particularly close to Sakura compares to other members. In an interview, Tae's Seiyu, Kotono Mitsuishi says that Tae's first emotion was a familial love towards Sakura.

In episode 6 of season 2, it is shown that the Minamoto family's grave and the Yamada family's grave are next to each other, further hinting some sort of relationship between the 2.

Now that the Gaiden manga is currently being released, we know that Tae before her death was the leader of the Sagako Buster (a spoof of Ghost Buster), a group of Demon Slayers working for Xu Fu to fight demon and protect Saga.

One theory is that Tae is a relative of the Minamoto family. Another one is that Sakura is the daughter of someone close to Tae, one stands out in particular is Hanako, a fellow member of the Sagako Buster, who bears a resemblance to Sakura in terms of character design.

Well, for now, all are still guesswork. Hopefully more info will be presented in the Gaiden manga, or maybe the next anime sequel of ZLS, either it is a season 3 or a theatrical movie.

Honestly I love this anime. But the one thing I wish they did was give her like a background. Like they didn’t even explain why she can’t clearly talk, why she woke up completely half crazy in the head and then where she comes from. But I honestly feel there will be a season three. Cause they left so much cliffhangers, like the one of the manger covering up his blood stains, or the massive looking UFO, which literally decimated a whole town or city. So many questions left unanswered, questions mainly about number 0, and also the manger. Like who is he and how does he know the old bartender guy who should probably be dead by now. Matter of fact, how the hell is the guy still alive after all the decades that passed. 😂😭. So many questions, I have tried looking for a manga, and haven’t found much, but I seriously feel that there will either be a couple of OVAs, a movie, or season 3, cause if not then that will just leave fans unsatisfied.

If Tae's background is what you're after, look no further than Zombieland Saga Gaiden: The First Zombie. It's a monthly manga that focuses on Tae when she was alive in 1989.
