Well I understand Takemitchy is a crybaby that is why it's fun to watch. I wanna see his character development and how he handle things around him. I really didn't wanted to see an Op character from the beginning though, he regrets that he ran away and wanted to sort things out now when he have second chance and he accepts that he isn't powerful and smart enough.Mikey and Draken hangs with him bc he doesn't giveup no matter how badly everyone beats him. He is still determined to do something and I bet he will have good development.

Exactly. Even in the lastest Episode he don't even try to fight. But you know character Development is a thing. Like for example, Boruto was a brat in beginning but now he's so mature. In manga he's literally try to do Itachi stuff so, that's why I believe that he'll get Development.

Well that is okay for you to not like him.

Takemichi is my favorite mc, he really touched me and he warms my heart. I wish I had someone like him in real life.

I love him because he is a very determined and strong-minded character. Even when he falls down and lose faith, he always gets back up stronger than before. He has a heart of gold and is a very sentimental and sensitive character which is why he cries a lot. He cares deeply for the people he loves. I also like the fact that he is not strong physically. We've already got a lot of strong character in this show. But Takemichi is different, his strong mental is what sets him apart from the others.

His relationship with Mikey and Draken is far from being forced. What they saw in him is his will to fight no matter what and no matter who's the opponent and that is what drew them to him. He also reminds them of Mikey's older brother.

Now don't forget that, even though he knows what will happen, he still doesn't know the whole story and what actually led to such consequences. There are a lot of internal and external factors he's not aware of (which makes sense) which makes it hard to prevent what he's trying to prevent. So how do you want him to come up with a plan if he barely knows anything ?
He's doing he's best and he is still not used to all these gang things.

I would tell you to wait and see how he evolves. Or maybe read the manga, the chapters are really short.

Give him a little time, it really is just the beginning. Trust me, he is FAR from being useless. Maybe you'll end up liking him too.

Like I don't mind him but I feel like Mikey and Draken are way cooler almost all the time and they feel more like the MC than the actual main character

Because he is the Best underdog u can find. He doesnt have anything special about him, he isnt the son of a god, he cant crush peoples skull but what he can do is try to change something, im a manga reader and dont expect Takemitchy to become strong and beat everyone this story is about a man who gets a second chance and is as worthless as he was before but this Time he will not give up

His role wasn't to fight but to protect Draken which is why he was running and looking for him throughout the entire episode. He can't do that if he fights with Moebius.

But you are right, he will grow as a character.

This is an underdog story so of course he's gonna bein the lowest of low places.Takemitchy has the seeds planted of an underdog mc but ill still have to see how he pans out.From what I've heard in the manga,He grows really well as a character.
Right now he kind of has a "useless"train of thought same as Subaru from re zero but I think Subaru did it better.Anyways I still like him and don't mind him as a crybaby.His character development is gonna be one of the major reasons for me to watch the show weekly.

I kinda agree but only for the last episode, he clearly helped his old gang by standing up for them even tho he was about to get beaten, and he helped hina brother to get a good path in life and saved him, as the story goes he prolly will be extremely useful but last ep he really just cried a screamed not doing jack...

I definitely like Draken and Mikey more than Takemichi. Takemichi cries too much, it's cringe sometimes. I also think that his relationship with Mikey and Draken is kinda forced. I feel like he's just not made for being a delinquent. But I'm sure he will grow as a character. Also, I think the manga is much better than the anime when it comes to the pacing, so I recommend you to read it.

I do like him because that is how a 14 year boy should be... Gang wars are scarry and I think most guys can relate because at some point of their life they were also scared like takemitchy, I sure was when I was young and had a fight... I got beated. And I don't think draken mikey and takemitchy's relationship is forced because u can find many people who have good fighting skill but when they go up against someone better they might give up
. But takemitchy even though he was weak he stood up and that too twice... So that's why they like him.. Because if he treasured them then takemitchy will never abandon them.... So they can trust him...

Well, Takemichi is not supposed to be a badass. You have 100 other characters for that. Personally, that's why I love him. He's not going through this I'm-a-shonen-MC-so-I-will-train-and-become-Stronger trope. It's refreshing

Also, there is character developement later.

bruh he is physically weak , not that smart and still manages to get his shit together, yea he makes some stupid choices but manages to find that grit to get through gang stuff and enduring physical pain not many can do that, not everyone that is weak, stupid, and has no power, most they just give up without trying. if you want A overpowered MC , 160+ IQ Mc, decisive or tricky MC you are watching the wrong show this anime is about gangs, fights with simple concept time travel and reasonable character limits like takemitchi not being strong in a week or 2 ( in real life you can learn handful of techniques but to no avail until enough work is put is into it for a certain period which is not the case for him) since his time limits from any major event every arc. i really don't like him that much too well from the manga things he does are realistic for him and not that brilliant tbh still manages to improve somethings that's rare to impossible in modern shounen genre which relies on talk no jutsu/ over powered elements to the core to carry the show. This show is like fresh air unlike most constantly reoccurring themes drama, romance, action, superpower etc. i see how people crave those genres but those are superficial at best, this anime is pure hard work he does that actually changes things for better or worse with no bs.

Mikey keeps takemitchy around for a reason. It is explained later in the manga

Yeah I agree, it got to me that when everyone else was fighting in ep 9 he was just crying on the floor. Like at least pick up the bat if you can't hit. I haven't read the manga but I'm assuming it's gonna be one of those things where we see growth in him overtime.

Yeah your thoughts about the takemitchy in the first arc of series is correct. He is not very strong or intelligent. That's why he can't think of any other reason to stop them. This takemitchy is surely a loser. But the series is not only about him saving his girlfriend but also how this loser becomes a winner.

I don't like him much either but am looking forward to see him grow. I see potential in him and the story (haven't started the manga yet, but plan on doing so soon).

The main gripe I have with him right now is that he is dumb. He's not using his time traveling ability to its utmost potential and it's making me angry. He stopped the Mikey and Draken fight, wouldn't the obvious move to go back to the present to confirm that it changed the future and Draken was safe? He had plenty of time, doing so would allow him to see that this alone wouldn't save Draken nd then he could plan accordingly and actually change things.

The other thing (and that is a plot issue that can't really be resolved) is that it is VERY weird to see a grown man dating a child. Yes, it's himself as a kid but with his adult brain and experience. The kiss with Hina was super cringey and awkward to me, I couldn't watch it. I just hope they don't focus on the romantic side of things too much.

I won't judge him too harshly yet because characters develop best when they are the worst but it's starting to get tedious that every ep he has a moment where he gets frustrated and doubts himself only to pick himself back up and a few minutes later... but then the cycle happens again the next week. It just makes him seem like he ISN'T developing y'know?

He’s so annoying and a typical generic shounen protagonist. Weak and dumb guy who succeeds just because he never gives up. Nevertheless i like this story a lot and i can tolerate Takemitchy since other characters are really cool.
And Takemitchy get’s a little bit less annoying in the Manga now but i still think he’s generic and boring.

My advice for anyone watching this: don't self-insert into the MC, it's better to see him as who he is, this is not those isekai harem, cultivation, underdog becomes badass after trainning hard mangas
Anyway, MC is not smart, can't fight, but damn his determination is inspiring. The crying is now normal for me, MC is sensitive and emotional so he'll cry a lots. Crying is a normal reaction under pressure and stress, he cries but he still stands up to face the problems.
Overall, good character development, interesting cast of characters, lots of plot twists, great series for me 9.5/10.
