Kurogane no linebarrels is also quite a BAD series. The main char is just to predictable (already in the third ep!!!!). Never seen jet alone of Neon Genesis but thanks, now I know i don´t have to see it.

And I recall being dissapointed by the Aesti Valis of Nadesico hwen I saw one of them shoot its fist that was tied with a cable.

Yes it is; and don't listen to sourcerer, he doesn't understand the beauty of relatively real robots.

Jet Alone doesn't look THAT bad in animation, or even in official lineart. That art there doesn't favor it.

What I'd say is the worst mecha I know is probably one of the Acguy/Z'Gok family in Gundam. The whole "aquatic prototypes" series has tons of ugly, useless, pieces of shit. Agai, Juagg, etc.

Oh god don't remind me. I can't believe people actually buy and BUILD the models of those... They are just like huge pieces of metal with arms and legs. They don't even look like proper mecha.
I'm back.

Kurogane no Linebarrels has not one but every mecha on the series designed very awfully, you just can't understand what's hapenning when they're fighting. That terrible CGI design kills the mechas on that series.

Pretty much all of the incidental mecha from the Mazinger Z manga. I love the design of Mazinger itself, but it seems that Nagai was limited to one good robot design per series.

ZGMF-1017 GINN (Gundam SEED), at least in SRT J it's so weak and easy to destroy. e_e

Hrm. I didn't care for the mech in Candidate for Goddess (wretched CGI) or Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (too trippy). I'm sure I've seen more, but those are what immediately came to mind.

Now see, I actually really liked Kurogane no Linebarrels. The CG wasn't horrible (I've surely seen worse) and the mecha action was good enough for me (and I like action). Granted, it's no Gundam, and I hear tell the manga is better, but it had its moments of awesomeness. And I disagree, the Machinas and Armas were not badly designed. I think some were perhaps over designed and had too much armor, but they always made it a point to mention those weaknesses; Hind-kind was continually pointed out to be nothing but a long-range weapon, so obviously that Machina and its Factor got beat up a lot in close combat. Oh, except Faithfull's Arma - that one did annoy me, it looked way too girly with its slender figure.

I would also recommend Martian Successor Nadesico. I had a lot of fun watching that anime... although more so for the loveable, laughable characters rather than the mobile suit action. I don't think the mecha was bad, it just wasn't overly featured after the first half of the show, in my opinion. I think without Gai, who was the ultimate mecha fanboy, it started focusing on Yurika and the romance-comedy aspect more.

But I digress. Back to the WORST mecha. :)
