Because it's ecchi done right tbh. This is coming from someone who wasn't even gonna watch this. But thank god I decided to watch it. Anyways, the ecchi stuff doesn't overstay it's welcome and also doesn't take itself seriously. Overall, it's trashy sure yes but it's the good kind. If you don't treat it nothing more that then you would like it. I'll be honest it's best question other people preferences or this show just bc it has a score.

Honestly, It's ok and even maybe good(sometimes) but how is this any different from the generic isekai harem ecchi we have gotten so much by now? It really isn't. Overlord treats its audience with some respect and goes forward with the confidence that its audience has some semblance of intelligence. This show literally appeals to just horny people that want a power fantasy. I don't usually bash on ecchi so much but this is just ridiculous. Maybe it'll change (I doubt it and even then the damage has already been done to these characters) but until then I'll stick to Overlord, and Attack on Titan.

I really like MC, Diablo, Rem and Shera and its like something more comedic than Overlord but not lose the touch of The MMORPG mechanics and these stuff...BTW they refill they mana doin sexy stuff (see this week episode) UwUr so its 7/10 an great 7/10!...

Isekai Maou is a generic, eechi harem trash that’s rated so high because the same weebs who overrate Overlord watch it and think it’s amazing, when they’re both mediocre power fantasy.

If I can add my two cents into this.

The reason why the show has a high rating is because:

- The MC doesn't have the archetype that a lot of Isekai Protagonist have (them being dense af, shy, etc). The fact that he stands out from the others is the reason why people can digest him as a character.

- The elements of the show while being lewd it has some appeal for the other side of the spectrum? I mean, it has quite a balance between the ecchi scenes and the actual content to which... yeah that's another thing that people like about the series as well.

And to be honest it can appeal to those that just want to have fun, or want something that isn't... very unappealing?

For me I like it due to the MC somewhat reminding me of a mixture between Momonga and Arata for some reason. And a bit of Issei. Those protagonist mix together for some reason give me this dude. So. Yeah.
