Blade of the Immortal, is it worth my time?

I've seen a bunch of mixed reviews for Blade of the Immortal, some praising it, some completely bashing it. A bunch voice actors that I'm familiar with are in it, but due to varying reviews I've yet to watch it. Would it be worth my time to watch this anime?

Read the manga if you want to get into Blade of the Immortal. As many of my MAL friends who've read the manga and seen the anime, they have told me to stay the hell away from the anime.

The story is great and the art is pretty good (from what little I've read/seen).

the anime was done by brainbase- the opening was good but the animation won't blown u away.Kind of stiff animation for certain part. It was so so to me, i didn't get to finish it

I'm one of those who'd praise it. I liked the art, it was well done, the story was quiet intriguing, and the end just moves you towards reading manga. Which I did. I don't regret it at all.
Basically, it's short, 12 episodes, they just fly by. I loved it =)

It's not a bad anime to watch. It's entertaining and the fight scenes aren't bad. But don't expect a whole lot from it.

Not by Brains Base but BeeTrain.

And yeah, the anime is pretty good. Those who rated it low are mostly the fans of the manga, and they did it simply because it wasn't a complete adaptation. I'd say, watch the anime then read the manga. If you don't like manga in general - watch the anime anyway.
