All of the following are shows i liked that have either the Highschool or college setting and involve the MC looking after a mysterious girl:
Code Geass - in the top anime list taking place 11 and 22 for a reason
Its two 24 episode seasons full of awesome action, mistery and political plot.
MC Lelouch finds main girl pizza-butt which gives him the power to command people.
Date a Live - its a harem type show with a very likable cast and and that doesnt take itself seriously most of the time. MC meets main girl Tohka, which is a spirit with mysterious powers Kotori who is his cute little stepsister.
He then has to date spirits to keep them from destroying the world.
I highly recommend this if you like Visual Novel/Dating Games since it makes a lot of references to them.
Elfen Lied - its a classic, pretty bloody and sad. MC finds a strange girl at the beach, that has a mysterious past.
Dont watch this dubbed, its infamous for its bad dub.
Full Metal Panic - There are three seasons to this, just FMP then FUMOFU then Second raid. Its really good and there is something for every taste in there. The first one makes a good balance between a highschool-romcom and action. The second is mostly highschool-romcom and third season is mecha-action for most parts. But all have a great cast in common.
Grisaia no Kajitsu - Its a high school romance with a lot of cute girls in the cast that have something mysterious in their past and a pretty cool MC.
Kyoukai no Kanata - Its by KyoAni so the animation is top notch. Both the male main character and the female main character have something mysterious that makes them special. It's a little bit of funny, a good portion of epic and a cup of romance mixed into 12 episodes. Cant really make something wrong with this one.
The disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya - cute girl opens weird club. Then mistery ensues. Its a classic and pretty much THE anime you have to watch if you consider yourself an anime fan. I dont know why, thats just the rule.
Im not so sure as to how strong the highschool/college setting is for you, its a little bit less present in Date a Live, Elfen Lied and Kyoukai no Kanata and more present in Full metal Panic and Haruhi
And if you dont mind that there is no highschool/college setting at all i would like to recommend Plastic Memories to you since you liked Chobits. Its a cute Robot-Human love story but mostly sad where Chobits is funny.
But is has the same themes and is just a pretty good watch if you liked Chobits in my opinion |
