| Is Naruto overrated from all the Narutards, or is Naruto underrated from all the Naruto haters? Personally, I think it's underrated, because a lot of people don't like Naruto. |
| Woah. So, Naruto's score didn't even reach 8.00?! It is UNDERRATED. Yeah, maybe the show have flows, but compare to Lagann ( I don't have anything against it, I actually love GL) which is the No. 1 Anime on the Top Anime page (the one that I think is Overrated), Naruto should at least have a score of 8.5. ^^ |

| I don't think Naruto is underrated at all. Who in the world of otaku's hasn't heard of Naruto? Naruto is a great starter anime, but it isn't the end all be all. I like Naruto, but there are a lot of things about it that piss me off. Like the fillers? Naruto and Bleach are notorious for that and it annoys me to no end. I started with Naruto, apart from Sailor Moon when I was about 10(maybe less/more?) it was my first anime. So I will admit I thought it was amazing at the very beginning(see screen name D:) But then you mature as an anime connoisseur, and you break away from the main stream, and you watch anime that isn't licensed and isn't popular and you realize Naruto is a great anime, but is isn't OUTSTANDING. And just like Hikari said the Narutards make it hard for people who don't like the action genre or who haven't seen the anime to accept it. People generally hate extremists, you see this even with the popular fiction by Stephanie Meyer: lot's of people bash Twilight (specifically males) because of the crazy fan girls and the popularity of it all. A lot of people in this world think that by opposing something that is largely liked or admired it makes them 'deep' or 'unique' when really, if they haven't even watched the anime or read the book it makes them look like a prat. Naruto has the rating it deserves. |

I understand peoples thoughts since anime has so many fillers, but manga is the most enjoing series in the world. I think that since anime series started to be emited in tv in my country on the channel destined to children, with cuted brutal scenes and pathetic dubbing no one actually would start to watch Naruto... thats sad but what can we do? their loss... |

| I can't vote here,because I don't think it's over or underrated. It's just right. I am Narutard(meaning I love Naruto),but I don't think it's the best anime. Far from it. I like the storyline and how the characters were fit in it,but there are a lot of things that could be better. I read in some previous posts that there is a lot of Naruto haters bcs of Narutards and their "immaturity". Well, I happen to be 18,and I have a few friends of my age that love Naruto too. Ofcourse,saying things like "NARUTO IS THE BEST ANIME EVER" etc. is ridiculous. There r older anime that are far better than Naruto. To tell you the truth, I thought Naruto was a piece of sh*t anime when my friend told me about it. When I actually saw a few episodes, I drastically changed my mind. That's what I think a lot of Naruto haters would do too if they just took time to watch few episodes. I am not Manga reader(yet),so I am not disappointed with anime. I'll let myself enjoy anime for a bit more,before I start reading Manga. Cheers! |

| I think it's overrated. One reason is because on every anime page, like where you can watch the episodes, you ALWAYS can watch Naruto. There are thousands of AMV's or something like that on YouTube (and not only that).. And, there are so many Russian (i'm half Russian ^.^) websites for Naruto... Sooo.... But maybe I'm not right... I just think that way. |

| I havent read everyones posts because a lot of them are long, but I would like to say I think in a way it is underrated by ranking wise on MAL. Just for the simple fact because it isnt a bad anime. Yes there are probably a lot of other animes out there that dont get the attention that Naruto does but it is still a good anime in itself. If it werent for the fillers that they had to put in and some that they didnt have to, a lot more people would be rating it higher. Its mostly because of the fillers why Naruto fans in themselves rate it low. And then there are just those that like to be d*cks and rate something low because they can and they dont like all the Narutards. I am a fan but not a complete space case like the Narutards that think everything in the world should revolve around Naruto. And to those saying it is overrated because of the Narutards, you cant really put peoples stupid upsessions on an anime that isnt all that bad. |

However i dont think popularity makes an anime overrated or bad. 2-one more thing is that the anime is ongoing and one episode in one week [wen fillers are on will piss off anyone.] so better watch it wen naruto has ended and leave out the fillers naruto is famous becuz it is a good overall anime , it is simple and unique and the manga of this anime is very popular and it tends to make other who dont watch animes watch . i dont think people should compare long animes with short ones either and plz dont rate shipuuden till its completed ! |

| Naruto is ... well ... just another anime to me. But I've been an anime and manga fan for many years now (I started watching anime when I was 7 and I'm 25 now) I started reading the manga first and that's what got me hooked. I was afraid to watch the series here in America because it was aired on Cartoon Network, notorious for editing. The first couple times, they showed the beginning of the series it was cool, but then anyone else notice that they cut out the scene where Naruto and Sasuke accidently kiss? Not only that, but at our local anime store (the only one in town) Narutards are in abundance. I mean I can't look at manga or posters or the walls of DVDs without some kids wearing a "hitai-ate" and shouting "Believe it" surrounding me and going "OOooh! look!!! Narutooooo!!!" For some of these kids, I get it; it's new, they don't know anything about anime and it's their "start" - that's great. Some people just take it too far. Finally I sucked it up and decided to give the anime a chance and it wasn't so bad (except for fillers, we can all agree there). Yeah I prefer to read the manga and yeah I will watch new subbed episodes when they are released and I do consider myself a pretty big fan. But so what if it's underrated or overrated? I'm a fan and I will keep watching and reading. Naruto has many many many fans (male and female alike) and while some of us are Narutards who take things to the extreme, others are just regular, faithful watchers (or readers). And I think that people that hate on it without reading or watching it, have no clue on what they are missing out on. Don't let a few (... hundred .. thousand ... err) crazy Narutards turn you away from a decent show with a pretty good story line. |

| While I am a big fan of Naruto myself, if you look at it as a total package then you have to admit the glaring drags on it. First there what the flashbacks, sometimes comprising of half he episode before it. Then there was the filler. Years and years of filler. Lastly there is the dubbed version of it. If the entire series had been Naruto first 100 or shippuden quality then there would be no contest that it was under rated, but if you picked it up during a filler time, I could see why you didn't like it. |
