I hope everybody's aware of this channel on Sky channel 199.
Its been a couple of lean years for UK anime fans what with the loss of Toonami and Rapture TV. Not a large selection at the moment from what i can see

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed
s-cry-ed
Fullmetal Alchemist
Robin Witch Hunter
and Planetes

I know they were showing Bleach before Christmas and they're advertising Cowboy Beebop on the site at www.animecentral.com

I'm hoping that with the recent boom in the popularity of anime and manga that there might be some more anime-centric channels. Hopefully one that isn't just on Sky because, unfortunately, I don't have it. Damn Camden Council and their rules and regulations. Apparently the dish would be an eyesore, but if you see the estate I live on you'd see that it isn't even an issue.
Your search on "Oran Solus" returned the following quotes:
"Oran Solus? I know him. What a wanker. He still owes me a tenner." Oscar Wilde
"Oran, you're so intelligent and awesome <3" Bakayaro
"Oran's sexy." LolitaDecay
"Oran is a sophisticated penguin." Drybananna
"Oran is a Hand-Eye you faggots." EddieSpaghetti
"Oran for Prime Minister." the_prime_one
"Oran is all that is stated in his sig and more." orbitzz

I've been watching Anime Central since it started airing. Sadly I'd already seen all the anime it was showing at the time. Now it's rota has changed I'm watching it more often. It such a relief to be able to just put anime on the tv if you fancy it... well after 9 o'clock at least. ^_^

Fiifo i know what you mean. until to years ago i had never heard of fansubbing. then i accidently dled 150 fansubbed epiodes of naruto and i was converted. but on the plus side anime central means i can finally make a start on fullmetal alchemist from the start as previously i'd only seen random episodes. oh and ghost in the shell SAC.

faust, no you're right. as good as transformers is its not anime in my opinion

Actually, Transformers: Headmasters is an anime. After the series finished in the west, Japan had some more made, which is what you see on Anime Central - animated by Toei back in 1987.

Ahh, gold old Anime Central. I had been watching it, and was quite excited about their FMA marathon over Christmas, as I'm ashamed to say I haven't seen the series yet. >.<

But...After settleing myself, ready for some anime, I rather rapidly found out they didn't play the series in order. They went from episode one, and then put episode fourty two on straight afterwards! Their episodes were all over the place all night. Boo hiss.

However, it is nice to see an anime channel finally appearing. ^^ I'm just hoping we'll have one hop over onto freeview sometime soon!

Actually. They did play it in order, But it wasn't in single episodes per night. It was about 20 episodes per night.

I've seen enough FMA on TV now anyway...

Oh, I must have seen it at a different time to you, because when I was watching: it was NOT in order at all.

Must've been a error, AC do it often. They got GitS out off order and stuff as well. Check their forum... They post about their errors on there.

Hm, an error? They were like that ALL night long.

Awe well, I could only get to AC over christmas due to being home, so it doesn't really matter now. ^^

I checked it out at a friends house, didn't really interest me. I'd proably end up watching it if we had Sky, but I don't really feel like I'm missing out. Just too attached to watching whatever I want whenever I want on my computer I guess. =P

its a cool channel but like strawberry said im too used to watching what i want when i want, instead of either one remmbering that xx is on x time and removing myself from the pc before the show starts.

watching radomly wasnt bad but sinse they put gundam seed english dub on i havent seen it LOL.
I was soo discusted to hear the butchering of it... Kira's eng dub voice is terrible for a start but what tipped me over board was the dumbing down of things such as :- Jap version = Godfreed cannon , Eng dub version = Laser and
Jap version = "send out strike", End dub = "send out the gundam".

if you've seen the full jap version 1-50 you'll know what im taking about, for me thats quite a big impack on the storyline.

Parents are tight and won't get Sky. I can afford it, but they won't let me get it either for some stupid reason. So Sky is a no-go for me. XD

AC is free to air, all you need is a dish and a decoder.

Identity: Don't know what you were watching, but the AC dub uses godfreed and strike.

But Kira is whiney :)

Anyone know why it's just showing repeats of Cowboy Bebop and GitS constantly?
I hope it's not dying.
It's so badly ran.

I heard from a friend that they'll have a new program schedule soon, although i think that was only a rumor, i havent found any hard proof of that.

If they do though, it'll be quite good, i'll be able to record anything on Sky+ that takes my fancy ^^.

God bless Sky +

I really hope they put some movies on too. I'd love them to show Blue Sub 6
They should space their shows out like have only 3 new episodes a week so they can run a lot longer and we'll never have this dire situation again.
Lets hope the ressurection of anime central happens soon
