Love Triangle anime where Male MC dies or is injured somehow

Ok, so the title is really only a brief explanation of what I'm looking for. By now, I've watched enough anime that (much like Rule #34), if it exists, there's an anime of it (I'm looking at you Akikan!).

Anyways, so this may sound bizarre (but for my dreams it really isn't), I had this dream about a day ago and I can vaguely remember it.

The premise was that there were two girls, and, for whatever reason, they were in love with this male. Kind of like your typical love triangle. However, while this is now extremely hazy why it happened (and let's face it, it's a dream, no guarantee it made sense in the first place), one of the girls is this Males spirit (or something) and through (from what I can remember) jealousy of this other girl, she either threw a spear or became the spear herself in an attempt to kill her (I assume). At this point the male protects the girl being attacked, effectively taking the hit from the spirit girl, and, as a result, either died or suffered a massive injury.

Yeah, don't know why I dreamt that, but honestly, I've had a lot weirder dreams.

TL;DR

So effectively, I guess you could summarise it with these few points:
1) Love Triangle involving
2) Two girls (One relatively normal, the other a spirit)
3) One girl (in this case the spirit girl) attacks the other out of jealousy
4) Male MC protects girl who was being attacked, taking the damage, either lethal or close to lethal. Assuming it was lethal, coming back later is fine, providing it wasn't straight away.

Regarding animes, the closest I can think of out of what I've watched regarding the love triangle (normal/spirit) is Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance, and regarding the death element, something like Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai! or The Familiar of Zero: Futatsuki no Kishi, with the exception that in those cases they both die and come back within the same episode (which is a bit meh), but Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai! does effectively contain the friendly-fire I'm after.

The points I've made aren't particularly stringent, so if anything comes to mind that is even anywhere near close to a friendly-fire love triangle anime, then let me know xD

Haha, thanks for the suggestion, but I've already seen Shuffle!

I can understand where you're coming from, satisfies the love triangle bit, that's for sure, but regarding the whole 'death' part, that's more self inflicted rather than being initialised by another girl and dying to save the other. Either that or I'm not remembering Shuffle! correctly...

There is a scene exactly word to word towards the end what you've listed in you opening post, just don't drop it because of early slice of life episodes.

Haha, I don't mind myself some slice of life, and at 13 episodes, it's not exactly a huge commitment anyways :)

Sounds interesting though, so it will definitely be the next anime I watch. Thanks again :)

Regarding Date A Live, already seen it, and to be honest, one specific part is pretty close to my expectations (I forget their names but the whole sniper scene, where the grey haired girls shoots the MC as he dives to save one of the spirit girls).

Regarding School Days, have not really got a clue what it's about so I'll check it out.

Right, so I've watched Sola. Regarding my points it was pretty much as I had listed, although, I wanted a much sadder ending, I won't say too much regarding what happens in case anyone is interested in watching it. The way I envisioned the ending was much more like guy saves girl, both girls are motrified/cry/weep. Where it goes there, who knows.

Edit / P.S.:
I guess it would be fine if a so call friendly fire incident were to happed where the girl who loves a guy accidentally kills the guy (for whatever reason).
