Well, we all know how great the first Transformers movie was, so is this one up to par? In all honesty I didn't see what was so great about the first Transformers movie. I only saw great content for masturbation when Megan Fox popped up. However, the majority of the planet loved it....However, from what critics are saying, T2 didn't do so well.

Critics Conclusions:

Roger Ebert, who had given the first film three stars, gave Revenge of the Fallen only one star, calling it "...a horrible experience of unbearable length."[167] He later wrote in his blog about the film, saying "The day will come when Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will be studied in film classes and shown at cult film festivals. It will be seen, in retrospect, as marking the end of an era. Of course there will be many more CGI-based action epics, but never again one this bloated, excessive, incomprehensible, long (149 minutes) or expensive (more than $200 million)."

Rolling Stone critic Peter Travers did not give the movie any stars considering that "Transformers 2 has a shot at the title Worst Movie of the Decade."

Once again, people go expecting entirely too much of their childhood out of a movie adaptation. Screw how faithful to the original it was- because, to be honest, it wasn't. There was plenty of action, a storyline that wasn't too complicated, a believable resolution.. don't tell me that even those who hated the movie weren't sad when Optimus went down. Even though you're expecting it, it still forces your mood to darken. And he doesn't just go down; he gets a death fitting for a warrior of a caliber such as his.

The first movie centers a lot more on the humans- Sam and all the guys in the military and everything. This time around- aside from Sam- the focus is squarely on the Transformers. And that what it should be, right? Isn't that the name of the series?

A long time ago, I abandoned the idea that a movie adaptation would follow the same lines as whatever series it was based on. I would imagine that the Harry Potter movies are the closest, but I've read not one book, so I can't be sure. So when I went to see Transformers, all i was expecting was a decent story and lots of action. What the hell else do you expect out of a story that centers around transforming cars that fight each other?

I actually agree with Kenshin on this one. I liked the movie. I think if you were one of the hardcore Trans-fans, going into the movie with the mindset that everything was going to suck, then yeah, it'll probably suck.

I went with a large group of friends, so I did not center my focus on every little detail. I watched it for what it was, an action movie. And my expectations were filled on that level. I thought it was funnier than the first, certainly not kid friendly, but funny nonetheless.

I propose to the club that this movie furthermore be known as "Transformers 2" or if you're really attached to meaningless acronyms, "Transformers ROFL."

You know, the opinion that Kenshin and X have is quite a popular one. Because really, it was only the critics that disliked the movie so much. The vast majority of the public had no problem with it. Simply because, as X stated, it fulfilled their lust for action...Whether it was senseless is almost irrelevant.

I'm not quite sure why, but I was surprised by the simplicity and intelligence of Su-chan's lastest post in this topic.

It may be because I am worn out and emotionally drained, but we'll ignore that for now.
