What anime have you have seen that has either touched or moved you in some way? In addition, what aspect of the story did you find appealing?

I think fruits basket had been the most moving for me ^.^

I would say how Tohru was just one of those people who would like change your aspect, and would just make you want to better.

lol, am i saying this right here?

The last episode of Gunslinger Girl really touched my heart. I'm a classical music fan, so that was a direct hit on me. Never cried watching anime, though.
"A lesser man might call it a day and bask in the echoing voices of cheer and celebration. A lesser man might delight in the moment, knowing he's the ultimate hero, a benevolent Big Brother to all and an inspirational light of hope in the darkest of times.

But Superman is not a lesser man. He renews his vigorous patrol of our world for wherever the battle for trust and justice must be fought, Superman will be there.
Forever...and always."- Superman #150

School Days(More depressing than Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ToT) - The episodes after the first few really shot off, the ending was also something to note
Kimi ga Nozomu Eien (Very depressing as Malkoto said, I couldn't go the extremes of not eating, but I felt horrible for the next few days or week) - The entire series was touching, although there was a period of "dullness"
Sola (Only one that seriously drove me to tears mang, due to the bookshelf incident) - the first few episodes were very introductory in nature, the last ones were quite packed

i thought School Days was alright. i didn't find it more depressing than KGNE tho. the ended felt more shock value than sad. and the characters were more predictive and pitiful than realistic. but Saikano was still more depressing than KGNE or school days. i haven't seen Sola but il definitely put it on my to see list if its emotional.

Well I being someone who can not relate deeply with almost anything I read at all, seem to be more attracted to anime or manga that follow along the lines of my desire and are somewhat easy to understand... call me short-sited? I can be indeed, but I'm just saying that when it comes to other stuff they always seem to do what I would have not done, I guess I'm looking for a fantasy to occupy my mind? But yet KgNE was more depressing than School Days, but School Days shock mixed with the depressing attitude led me to be more depressed then I was with KgNE.
Sola is SERIOUS...ness

Also I started reading Bitter Virgin a few days ago and am finished with everything that's currently out, JESUS CHRIST...... Bitter Virgin=Realistic to the point of dragging you in entirely.

Kanon (2006). Oh my god, I can barely explain how this anime makes me feel. Many parts of the story really hit hard for me, and touched me personally. This anime is just simply amazing.
