Any books that avid tokyo ghouls enjoy?

Just wondering since Kaneki is a huge fan of books then maybe some of his fans are avid book readers. I'd definitely like to start getting into literature. Any suggestions? Maybe something that Tokyo Ghoul has been known to reference?

Yes i recently purchased that as well i hear its a master piece and supposedly Franz Kafka is one of the twentieth century's best writers even though he died around 1940 i think this due to the translations since it is originally German.
