I just got all nostalgic on myself, remembering how much I loved this anime (both seasons), and thought to ask for some help in finding something similar.

It was one of the few series to make me feel so attached to the characters and their relationships. Their relationships with one another were full of great feels and comedic moments, and the romance that seemed to be sprinkled everywhere was perfect. Just very charming series all around, with some drama but not too much as it was always fitting and never overly dramatic.

I'm a massive fan-boy of the series but for those who have watched and enjoyed, I really hope you can help me out!

For those who haven't seen it, essentially this is what I'm looking for that hold similar qualities:

- Good comedy, and great friendships

- Great characters that make you care about them

- Romance involved

- Mature cast (Honey and Clover's is in university)

- Great feels

- Solid and fitting OST

- Has some coming of age elements involved

Any and all rec's would be much appreciated! I have a few other series on the go but I'm all of a sudden craving to get a similar feel to that I had while watching Honey and Clover.

Nodame Cantabile is probably the closest thing you'll get to it in my opinion.

Kokoro Connect. The cast is in high school but they are mature for their ages.

Paradise Kiss looks pretty good I think, and I've heard of Kuragehime before but I just want to know if it has romance involved and it's mostly fun, not sad?

I get a lot of rec's to watch Nodame, and this miiiiight be the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm always hesitant to just jump into a series so it's nothing against it, it's just on me for not starting.

It's always hard finding another series pretty well exactly the same.

I do want to ask though about "Genshiken" it looks like a good slice of life, but I want to ask those who've seen the it if it's a fun watch, has a little romance and if I'd like it based off my enjoyment from Honey and Clover.

Again thanks for all your rec's so far! I appreciate them

Genshiken is great, but it won't give you the same feel as Honey and Clover. Nodame Cantabile is definitely your best bet.

Gin no Saji is another a good one. Less romance in this one though.

Completely forgot about Gin no Saji. I'm not sure why, but looking at the cover art, it really reminds me of Honey and Clover. As long as the romance is there enough to sense it that's fine. Really wish there were more series resembling university life.

Thanks a lot for the clarification I appreciate it.

Some other shows set in a college or university

Yojōhan Shinwa Taikei ("The Tatami Galaxy") - It has Muasa's characteristically weird art style with a plot that resembles the movie "Groundhog Day."

Moyashimon - The protagonist is a college freshman who can see microbes. Campus hijinks, sake making, and a bit of biology as well. Make sure to watch the "Microbe Theater Deluxe" shorts as well. The second season, "Moyashimon Returns," is weaker than the first. I couldn't watch more than one episode of the live-action adaptation noitaminA ran either.

However your first stop should absolutely be Nodame Cantabile. You can watch the first season with dubs at Crackle. For the two sequels, or a subtitled version, you'll need to watch fansubs.
