I know 4kids did some major edits to Sonic X when they dubbed it, and I was just wondering if it's any better in Japanese, or if it's still just a kid's show that's trying to be interesting because it has video game characters in it.

There isn't much of a change in script but I find the dub is more streamline then subs because certain sentences in japanese don't sound right when translated to english, also if you grew up watching sonic the non-dubbed voice will seem very weird especially Knuckles(my favorite character as a child)
Do you even Anime? Prove it!

Well it's just I watched a comparison of a scene in english and japanese, and the japanese one seemed to develop tails' character more than the english one, but maybe it was just a dramatic scene.

I probably wont watch it, since I lost my interest in sonic years ago.

Sonic X, Beyblade, Yugioh, DBZ, Pokemon, Donkey Kong Country, etc. all of the old school tv shows i've seen have been dubs and they'll stay that way, since I'm never going to watch them again.

I did check out the sub versions of some of them, like Sonic X and Yugioh for example, and I really hated them. I think it's because I'm used to dubs for these anime while growing up as a child.

Chances are if you've seen Sonic in the dub first, then you'll probably stick with the dub.

Chris Thorndyke is still annoying, Sonic and friends swear for some reason, Jun'ichi's Engrish is great like always.

It's alright I guess.

Well, back then I didn't even know what censorship was so it didn't bother me too much. What is there to censor in those kinds of show anyway? I doubt it seriously hindered my enjoyment of those anime.

The thing is, I never watched Sonic X in the dub, mainly because I didn't think Sonic had a compelling enough story to be entertaining. I've heard that shows like Pokemon are more interesting in Japanese, but I guess that doesn't mean they're still not kids shows?

I agree with you on that. I was never really interested Sonic X. I maybe watched 5-6 episodes of it whenever it came on TV, but I never went out of my way to see it.

You might be right about Pokemon being more interesting in Japanese. At least that's how I feel after watching XY.

I think I remember some of the things they censored. Was one of them when Joey punched Atem after he lost Yugi's soul?
