Any HOLLOW female character?

I have a rather uncommon taste when it comes to female anime characters that I like or consider beautiful. Basically, I'm looking for those that have a tragic past, maybe having been violated physically and mentally or stuff like that. However, she somehow managed to "rebuild" herself from her own remnants.

I don't even know the exact reason why I put the word HOLLOW in the title. A possible explanation would be that despite the radiant beauty these girls have, they are filled with nothing but emptiness in the inside. :-?

Imagine a beautiful girl who keeps living without anything to hold onto. Pitiful, isn't it?

I have the impression that the drama of these girls will have a tear-jerking effect, and therefore worth checking out.

So, any suggestion guys? Thanks for reading this.

Definitely gonna check ef out. The person who recommended this to me show an episode of the girl revealing her past, i.e. torture and rape and other crazy shit

Hmmm...maybe not what you're looking for, but there's character kind of like that in H2O: Footprints in the Sand named Hayami Kohinata. You can read the descriptions to see if the show/character meet your criteria or not, but honestly I didn't really care for the show that much.

Mirai Nikki has a quite a few, Canaan also has a pretty tragic past, Ga Rei zero has a reverse storyline that tells of a young girl getting corrupted
