To live together in the cousin`s house, Yuichi Aizawa visited the town after an interval of seven years. In his childhood, he was often visiting this town. But, something happened seven years ago, and he was sealing the memory of this town. On the next day when Yuichi moved to this town, he met the girl who carried the backpack which wing garnish was attached to on her back. An encounter with that girl named Ayu Tsukimiya began to remind him of the memory of this town.

Feel free to discuss about every aspect of the series.

I don't know about the Jam but...

My interpretation of Kanon:
The main story = dream
which is just
which was also fueled by the beginning sequence to most of the episodes xD

Moral of the Story:
Own interpretations = more fun than 'intended' interpretations. But intended interpretations are probably also important...

Note that I watched 2006 first and never played the game xD

Basically, what I get from that is Kanon = Kanon.

It's just an illusion vs. reality interpretation.

Still, basically narrating the story plot I see. Besides interpretation of whether or not Ayu was real or not will only end in one accepting their own interpretation. Have you ever tried to convert people from one religious interpretation of the bible to another? It just doesn't work as a topic for discussion.

It's not about converting them to my point of view xD
I just thought it might be an interesting way to look at it.

As I always see discussing or debates:
A way to which one may observe the arguments and decide for himself. (This aside from the above statement that my initial post was just to state an opinion).

In other words, I will approach a debate with an open mind, without thought of winner or loser, and with the idea that it will help me come to my own conclusion or to understand other people's conclusions. (Each argument has it's own merit).
Truth vs. Illusions aside. That's for the reader to decide...

Though I would like to come to one understanding, what is it you mean by discussion exactly? xD

Discussing is for making up your own mind and converting those who haven't made their minds up to your mind.

Agreed.

Just so we are clear though, asandari. Debating, as it was explained to me once, is you taking a point of veiw and defending it, while acknowledging the other side's point of view and listing differences of their views to yours that leads the general audience to your point of veiw. Thus, when having a debate it is hard to keep a completely open mind on the fact that you start off with an initail opinion that you want to express and reasons for expressing that opinion. That opinion tends to be the closed part of the brain until proven less worthy to the opinion of another with better reason.

Well, that's what I meant. Debates are a way to test one's reasoning, and to see other people's reasonings, and then using your own point of view to chose which reasoning you agree with. Whether or not you support one side in the beginning, you should always allow yourself the grace to change your opinion if you come upon logic that gives a 'superior' answer (to yourself).

I would disagree with people /trying/ to change other people's minds, really. I sort of like the freedom of thought thing, I'd rather sort of give them the whole truth and let them decide xD
Though it would obviously be biased since I couldn't know the whole truth, and unless our points of view conflict greatly then our ending opinion would usually be the same (assuming interpretation is completely correct).
