Victoria sighed, this was her first actual contract. Not many people would want to make a contract with her and actually accepted her help. She was the type of loyal demon that didn't abandon who she helped, she didn't need one. She said nothing and continued to walk, her long skirt silently blew with the gentle breeze as she took larger steps when walking. She wasn't in the mood to miss them, she wasn't like Damon, she couldn't just travel through the shadows. A stronger breeze blew wavy black hair into her pale face. She turned around and looked at the setting sun, judging its time roughly.

Luke sighed, this was boring. Claudius didn't care to start a conversation and Logan, the usual happy-go-lucky was asleep.
"Bored?" Claudius guessed, staring out the window.

Elizabeth whispered quietly with her sister, they didn't have much to say at night. They didn't sleep at night for a long time so they usually stayed up rather late.

Claudius smiled, him being the oldest who wasn't asleep, "Okay. It goes like this, we each ask the person about something personal. If they don't want to answer they don't have to. Ariel, do you want to start?"
Logan blinked the sleepiness out of his eyes, hearing their conversation, and sat up a bit.

Ariel stared at Claudius with searing crystal blue eyes "do you really trust your maid?" She didn't mean to sound rude but she wanted to know what the other's relationships with their demons were.

Claudius smiled, "It's okay. We'll come back to you....now it's...my turn." Claudius thought for a bit and turned to Luke, "How did you meet Vincent and how much do you trust him?"
Luke sighed, "Why must you ask such a delicate question...All right. I was in a tower and thinking about how I did wrong and Vincent came, drawing me in with his sweet power. How much do I trust him? I trust him with my life and I would hate if he left me."
Claudius smiled, obviously satisfied with the answer, "You're turn Luke."
Luke looked around, "...Elizabeth and Ariel...how do you feel about Damon?"

Elizabeth thought for a moment "I trust him with my life. He may not be a loyal butler at our sides at all times but he will come if we're in danger." She smiled "he's really nice when he's had his three meals a day. He doesn't complain....and if he left I would be devistated...." Ariel nodded in agreement with her twin "yes, he is very reliable."

Luke smiled and nodded, actually hoping for something of a bad report.
Logan sat up, "My turn? Um...Everyone, I guess....how is your out look on life?"
Claudius and Luke both replied at the same time, "A game."
Claudius cleared his throat, "It's fun to live, but eventually it gets tiring. Well, I guess you could say it's like a war...you have the spies and the rats."
"A game because everyone is a pawn. It all goes by ranking; the king, the queen, the knights, the protectors, and the lowest of the low," Luke said, bitterly.

Elizabeth thought for a moment before frowning "a long, cold existence....I don't wish to explain but I'm sure you all had reasons for making contracts with soul-devouring demons...we have ours...." Ariel however, had a different outlook "I don't think it's boring...sure it can be sad and cold at times but that's not all it has to offer. It can be kind and warm...you just have to make the most of the short time we have on this planet."

"Me? Hm...it's a stormy sea with rays of hope," Logan smiled, "Lately it's been peaceful since I've met you guys."
"Even when your house burned down," Claudius mumbled.

"You know me, I'm stubborn," Damon yawned. "I just want to know...are any of them on the list?"

James looked from Morgan, to Damon, then sighed. He opened up the leather bounded notebook with the crimson red cover, "Okay...let's see, tonight's list...nope...tomorrow...nope...the day after...well, it says there's a possibility, but the person who's able to change it is Luke and Claudius, so it depends on their decision."

James jumped down swiftly, "I'm finished for today. As for you two." He pushed up his glasses by the side. He took out his gun and pointed it at Morgan's head, quicker than he could react, "Don't you dare tell anyone what happened...that goes for you too Damon." He glared at the two, waiting for an objection.

"James."
James felt the pit of his stomach fall. The voice that sounded so very familiar..."Mr. William."
William T. Spears glared at him coldly, "What do you think you're doing?"
"Alice and Morgan looked a bit sick," James said, looking up to the tree, making sure Damon had gone. "I'm filling in."
"In all honesty...you're the one not looking too well," William said. "How long have yous stayed awake?"
"Just a few days, but it's nothing, what with crime rates going up," James sighed. "I'll be fine though."
William glanced at him up and down uncertainly. "If you truly don't feel well, just take a break. I'll be fine with that."
"No. It's okay. Really," James said before leaving into the darkness of the woods.

Damon appeared beside Victoria and Edward, "How are you guys?"

Victoria had been standing next to Edward when Damon appeared, making her suddenly jump in shock. She bumped into Edward who stumbled a little then grumbled, dusting off his coat. Victoria sighed and looked at Damon "hello Damon." She looked back at the sky that she was so intently watching fine, and you?" She asked with a sigh.

"Hey, watch out for muggers," Luke joked.
"More like watch the twins," Logan mumbled. The entrance to the circus was surrounded by a fair. It was busy there, like you'd expect, but it wasn't crowded.

Elizabeth and Ariel looked around happily, circuses weren't too bad; they always were able to entertain the two. Elizabeth looked at her clothing then at everyone else "I always feel out of place at public places..." She murmured half to herself and half to anyone who might have heard her.
