| I asked for something like this a while back (though not worded the same) and didn't really get what I wanted so I'll try again. Again, I'm not sure how to form this request because it doesn't have a 'word for it' (or at least I don't know it). It's like trying to explain a smell you've never smelt or a color you've never seen without comparing it to things you do know (i.e it smells like a smoked sort of meaty spice or a reddish black). So I'll resort to listing examples 'like it'. Accel Word __ unpopular first year guy with most popular senior (distinct+elite group) One Piece __ bounties (hierarchy based on it, uh sort of), strong crews (distinct groups), yonko, admiral, sichibukai (elite/distinct groups) Sword Art Online __ levels (hierarchy), clearers (elite group) Hunter X Hunter __ hunters (distinct/elite group), star hunters (elite/distinct group), hunter type i.e archaeological, hacker, crime, head (distinct groups), the Spiders, the Zodiac Twelve (distinct/elite group) To Aru M no I/K no R __ levels Bleach __ reiatsu levels, captains etc. Darker than Black __ contractors, organisations Fate / Nasuverse __ family lineage, associations/organizations, color system, Saki __ 'supernatural monsters', also elite schools etc. A lot of 'typical shonen' in there but it doesn't have to be limited to said genre (though it is a feature of it?). Things like a character having connections to 'elite' or 'distinct' people are also part of this request, i.e in One Piece being the Revolutionary Leader's son, Gol. D. Roger's son, being friend with a yonko, a sichibukai etc. Things like a character being unexpectedly special. Anything comes to mind? |

| I had three suggestions about anime with some rankings: Baka to Test, Claymore and Freezing... and you have already seen them :( Also Dragon Balls (it is over 9000!!!) Fate (servants are ranked) Guilty Crown has a ranking of the Voids (but by the time they introduce it the show goes horrible wrong) Shaman King (all shamans have a rating of their magic points or something) Nanoha (it has some ranking of the magic power, but don't remember in which season) |

| Yu yu Hakusho - had some tournament arc, in which the competitors were assigned some letters... but I might be wrong. It has been a loooooong time since I watched it. Also every anime with military theme has rankings by default :) |

| Just about every series these days has some sort of hierarchy, it just depends on how high or what specifically your looking for. A lot of Shoujo genre = Rich and the poor. Ugly and the beautiful. Every school genre = Junior and Senior (Senpai and such), student council, etc. Every fighting tv series = Some sort of power level or ranking. Every supernatural series = Those with or involved 'abilities' or 'events' and those without/who are not. Since I don't know what genres you favor (since you've bombarded your favorites with the -monogatari series), I'll just list random stuff that come to mind. -Sora no Otoshimono - Downers (humans) and Angels. Angels are all supreme but humans know nothing of their existence. (Genre: Ecchi, Comedy) -Shaman King - Multiple groups. (Genre:Typical shounen, Comedy, Action) -Chrome Shelled Regios - Normal students / Citizens < military students < heaven's blade < queen? (Genre: Action) -Star Driver - Distinct Group/Organization: Glittering Crux Brigade. (Genre: Action, Mecha) -Black Blood Brothers - Distinct Groups and Organization categorized from normal vampires / humans to old generation blood vampires and such. Multiple organizations within the series. (Genre: Action, Vampire) -Scryed - Groups and Organizations. Normal average humans and those with powers who use it for themselves and those with power who chose to use it for the city. (Genre: Shounen, Action, Superpowers) Could just list every shounen to be honest. |
| Jyu oh sei and its "rings" and ranks Claymore with its numerical ranks, top ten getting more attention and dragonball throwing around random numbers and shouting about them, if that counts? :D and theres a manga called Mx0 with those magic cards that represent their ranks. |
