I don't know the ages of many of members here, but say you were single (or married) and over 28 years old and you found out at your grandfather's funeral that he had an illegitimate daughter...

How would you react? Same as Daikichi? Differently??
What if the Hokey Pokey is what it is all about?

After the initial shock of my grandfather having a child that young, if no one else was able to, and the kid was as adorable as Rin, adoption would be something to consider. Family is family.

Unless the kid was a brat. In that case, I'd leave quietly and unsuspectingly.

i think i d react the same way too if the situation was the same, after the initial whaaa?!! X_x i'd still accept her in some way, more so if she followed me around like a lost puppy and no one else wanted or seemed to care about her. Although i think if my family were a little more loving towards and realised the loss she was feeling and i didnt have to take her home, i'd still care about her, heck, i'd probably be the aunt that always phones LOL

So, if she is anything like Rin, a shy, thoughtful, and well mannered girl. I'd take her in a heartbeat. Reality might be a stark contrast though lol. Well behaved kids? Ha! Maybe more so in Asia?

I'm 23 and making way more than enough to live on my own. Anyhow, living alone is dreadfully dull and what am I going to do with all the discretionary income anyways xD Bloodline relation doesn't matter much to me, I believe people are who they are through experience. Though I'd file some paperwork so she doesn't get taken back on a whim by the parent who abandoned her. That'd be heartbreaking for me to spend a long time.

Hmm... Maybe I will take care of the child...
I'm 24, but I have some experiences with kid, so may still be problems, but not gonna give me shock to face child's problems, hahaha...
Don't like it? Just stop watching/reading it. Why become a masochist that keep going through something you don't like and bitching in the end of it?

I'm 27 and I absolutely love kids (getting my teaching degree); so I would probably take the kid; especially if everyone else acted like his family did.

After the initial freak out over my grandfather getting some chick pregnant, I would be severely pissed at my family for being so heartless. The foster care system is no place for a child to go into if there is any family to take care of them instead. I probably would adopt Rin myself.

If I were any younger though, it would definitely cause me to second guess that decision.

I would probably adopt the child if no else will take her in.

Depend on her personality. If she like Rin, I might watch over him quietly at the funeral, but that only... I might don't care like Daikichi's relatives. Might help and take care a little but no intention having full responsibility toward it.

I'm 22, but I'm nowhere near to be able to take care of a kid.
I would love to help, if the kid was like Rin, and seeing that no one even cares to take her in, I think I'll an effort and try to take her in.

Well, fortunately, most of my remaining family would never abandon a child. So, a child in that situation would likely find sanctuary with me, my sister or my daughter. I'm 66 and a child like Rin around might be much more of a blessing than younger people might realize. The financial burden, I know, would be shared by my family. I guess we are "old school" and my daughter was raised like we were. And she really loves kids. So, Rin would find a loving home.
