ANIME Here's the first trailer if your insterested. Judging by the video they claimed that this'll be a "happier" season with less mind-frying storylines and blood. OH AND RENA AND HER CLEAVER IS BACK http://images.wikia.com/whentheycry/images/7/77/Yes.png Batsukoishi-hen (罰恋し編, Penalty Loving Chapter) has been revealed to be the first chapter that will be adapted into this season. The story is essentially a boys against girls battle, with the club punishment games as the main weapon. Being that the boys side is severely lacking in members, Maebara Keiichi finds himself backed up by the other "Soul Brothers", a group consisting of himself, Oishi Kuraudo, Irie Kyousuke, and Tomitake Jirou. The rest of the season will consist of 妖戦し編, 結縁し編 and 夢現し編. The word "Kira" means "to shine, golden, or light" The promotional poster makes it look like this season will be based on "Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica". A new threat to Hinamizawa has appeared in the form of a mysterious organization named "Tokyo Magica". Rika will transform into "Oyashiro Rika" in order to fight them. Also, Rika's, Hanyuu's, and Satoko's seiyuus will be singing this arc's theme song, titled "100% Magical Star". In my personal opinion, I find that this is a pleasant change to what has been happening for 3 seasons. It'll be nice to see the crews of Higurashi hanging out and doing fun stuff rather then killing themselves again like the last 3 seasons. I still recall 竜騎士07th Expansion's ability to make happy and slice-of-life episodes (IE Rei, in the original series when their having club activities and that infamous pool episode) I'LL BE LOOKING FORWARD TO IT ^^ |

Anyways, I personally liked the 5th OVA of Higurashi Rei. The 1st was too fanservicey, but wasn't that bad overall. Of course it'll lack the zing the actual plot had, so I wouldn't give it a score as high as the rest of the series had, but it won't be bad, at least. |

Kira means something along the lines of "Glitter". That doesn't imply anything about a murder mystery, but more of a slice-of-life lighthearted comedy. |
