I wouldn't compare Suzuka with Love Hina. I would compare it to Ichigo 100% or I''s because those two series are love romance/drama while Love hina is mainly love-comedy.

Not at all!
Suzuka is somewhat serious love story than comedy.

Every person in the Suzuka anime had a purpose unlike Love Hina. Suzuka ended better as well even if the main characters said some stupid things.

wow people dont get me wrong suzuka is one of my favorite mangas, but it is a ton like love hina, the dude lives in a bath house with the girl he likes, which is an all girls dorm, the girl he likes cant cook, but he can, they both try to get into a college together, the way suzuka likes him one minute then acts like she doesnt the next, and they get married, even the way he looked for a job all day and couldnt find one there are still a lot more

One thing to keep in mind, manga and anime that came out in this general time period all have similar story lines. It was/is a popular story line to base things on. Look at Oh my Goddess. One of the oldest Mangas and the majority of new romance story's still follow the same plot.

so yes both Suzuka and Love Hina are similar. Not exactly the same but they are similar.

Suzuka -
1) Make lead is looking to hook up with first girl he sees.
2) One male in love with one women who happens to live in the same building as him.
3) Male lead hooks up with another girl that's not the one he was originally shooting for.
4) Main female lead is shy.
5) Main female lead goes to another country for school.
6) Main characters have unprotected sex.
7) Main characters hook up and get married.
8) Main characters have a baby.

Love Hina -
1) Male lead is looking to hook up with his child hood friend who he cant remember 100% once he get's into college.
2) One male in love with one women who happens to live with other women who all like him.
3) Male lead ends up having a crush on another girl but never hooks up with her.
4) Main female lead is Tsundara.
5) Main male lead goes to another country for culture and curer learning.
6) Main characters have sex.
7) Main characters hook up and get married.
8) no kid that we know of.

I'd say Suzuka is similar to Over Drive. Both series have pretty much the same plot for romance and sport. They were both pretty amazing animes in my opinion.

I wouldn't really compare it to Love Hina.. I mean, there are some similarities here and there but Love Hina felt way too childish for me while Suzuka was a serious romance. Love Hina felt geared toward younger audiences with all the comic relief whereas Suzuka was more focused on drama. I'd compare it with I"s or Ichigo 100% but those both felt like harem comedies with some romance thrown in.
