| It wont be infinite because if the witch is revived they will have to fight it and will corrupt their soul gem again. It will be just a transfer of energy. But if the law of entropy is applied energy will be lost during transfer. |

The reason Incubators bothers to do whole thing is that it's infinite amount of energy restricted only by output. And there's no evidence that more energy is used to destroy witch then is gained from Grief Seed. The problem are familiar of witch that don't drop Grief Seed and still require magic(energy) to defeat or fights between Mahou Shoujo. Even with Sayaka crazy and inefficient fighting it took a lot time to actually lose all magic and turn into witch. So I guess that powerful mahou shoujo like Homura (or Kyoko) could live infinity if they decide to not engage in useless or risky fights and keep out of fighting Walpurgisnacht(At least until they strong enough). The problem is that since source is infinite but have limited output of energy, turning Mahou Shoujo into Witches is the most efficient method, so Kyuubey actually prefer it then gaining it slowly by remains of Grief Seeds(since it's mostly used in restoration). Especially since material (young girls :D) is plentiful and easy to replace. |

| I don't know about this witch revival thing, seeing as I don't remember anything about witches reviving. The grief seed just gets eaten by Kyuubey. Besides that, surely there isn't an infinite amount of witches out there. Because of that, there is not an infinite supply of grief seeds, so eventually some mahou shoujos would have to become witches. |

It is unknown, since they never showed one transforming, if the familiar retains the image of it's parent or if it develops into an unique witch. Some theorize that the Incubators basically reuse the Grief Seeds over and over (reviving the same witch essentially) which may also be true as the system needs the illusion of an enemy to keep the façade going. |
