This thread is dedicated to any known sales or discounts for manga. Post anything that you find.

Discount anime has a deal for 35% off all Tokyopop Manga. (Last time it was 35% of Viz I easly racked up $200 worth on titles I was holding out for....lets see what my bank account can take this time)

Also....I couldn't confirm this for all Borders, but local Borders in my area are running a buy 4 graphic novels and get the 5th free. I didn't see anything on Borders site about it, so I would recommend checking in your area first.

How about a request?

I will award 10 cool points to anyone who can find volume 7 of the Excel Saga manga for me at a non-ludicrous price.

For some reason every site I look on, it seems to be 5-6x more expensive then the other volumes..

It's not exactly a universal thing, but manga is generally available for 25-30%+ on Amazon.com as a regular price.

Well, I don't know about this 25-30% stuff unless you count the marketplace stuff. But even so, 25% of $10 is 2.50 off and you end up spending close to that much on the shipping. So it's not really that great of deal in the end.

Really the time I go buy DVDs and Manga is either at a convention, or through special deals like Rightstuf and discountanime have.

Do we live to watch Anime, or watch Anime to live?

Good point, but it helps if you are buying in bulk. There are a lot of sites that offer free shipping for orders over $100. Also a lot of places, even if you don't spend up to $100 will still save money by purchasing more then one book on the overall shipping charges.

I just placed 2 orders with discountanimedvd when they had the 35% Viz novels. First was for 5 Golgo 13 novels. Total price with shipping and tax: $39.63. Then the next order was for 18 Battle Angel novels (Alita and Last Order) plus 1 Ranma 1/2 novel. Total price with tax: $133.16.

Also don't forget that gas prices are still high. I pay about $4.40 a gallon for regular out here in CA...also buying locally will hit you with sales tax, where some of these sites might not charge you if you are in another state.

I once bought 2 mangas on ebay for less that bucks for both and that includes S&H. One was a One Piece manga and the other was Kingdom Hearts. Both were in perfect condition. So I suggest browsing ebay sometimes but make sure you fully read and understand what you're looking at before placing a bid.

Well, if you order one manga at a time (which is in itself unwieldly), this is going to be true no matter where you shop online (with the possible exception of DeepDiscount.com, who doesn't charge for shipping but their manga selection can be spotty). Most manga sold on Amazon is covered by the Super Saver Shipping program, which gives you free shipping on orders over $25.

I haven't actually used this site to buy manga, but DiscountBookSale.com has Naruto, Death Note, D.Gray-Man and some others at $0.25 if you're a member of the site. I think membership was $12 a month, which would be worth it if you were going to buy a lot of manga. I just found the site, so I don't know if it's actually as great as it looked. But it seemed pretty good to me! Especially since I'm D.Gray-Man obsessed..... It had lots of other manga too, just not as discounted. The stuff like D.Gray-Man was $5.85 without memebership, although since I don't buy much manga I don't know how discounted that is. I hope I've helped some!

For the fujoshi out there, Discount Yaoi (http://discountyaoi) has a decent selection at good prices. Most stuff is $3-4 bucks off cover and they have sales now and then. If you buy four or more books, you pick up an extra 5% off. Apparently 1-4 books ship for the same price. Ive ordered from them a couple of times and Ive been happy with the results.
