Might not have been a good diea to make a new topic for it rather than just sticking it in the chatroom thread.
But I'd be curious to see what people get recommended after watching a complete series.
At least on the Xbox Series X app, after you finish the last episode of a series, you get recommendation popups.
Now, I primarily watch romcoms and sometimes isekais, and whenever I finish a series, I get the usual logical recommendations for what to watch next, and some extras from my watch list.

But one thing that ALWAYS gets recommended regardless of show genre I watch is Solo Leveling.
I'm curious as to whether anyone else has the same crop up on their recommendations in the CR app or even on the website depending on how you watch your anime.
I don't watch any other Manhwa adaptations, so it's unusual (at least from my perspective) that it always without fail gets recommended.
And the "Trending in Australia and New Zealand" section in the app shows nothing but Shonens and Donghua.

So if anyone feels up to it, if you finish a show, can you type out what sort of recommendations you have been getting.

I always get the same 3 or 4 shows, but one thing is that it's always for shows that I haven't watched on Crunchyroll. For me, I keep on getting Life with an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout (which I watched on Funimation before the rebrand), DNAngel, and Conception, among others. Since I have watched a large number of the great shows already that I'm getting a lot of lesser shows as recs. Quite frankly, I don't like seeing them and would rather go to a separate section instead of having to see them at the end of each episode and just go back to the series page when it finishes.

It used to direct us back to the series page.
I think it's been trying to take a page from Netflix's book.
But there's no way it should be recommending certain shows to me given that I don't watch those sorts of shows.
And it's not like there's no data on my tastes, seeing as though I've been a subscriber since 2015/early 2016.

Yep. It tends to be the shows that (I assume) CR wantes to promote. For me, I tend to get Shield Hero [VOMIT!] regardless of whether the show I just watched has any similarity to it or not.
I would really rather CR start promoting the rest of the library that are barely noticed. Sometimes, they even add new stuff, barely even making its presence felt. Pretty sure if they keep promoting Vandread to me, I'd finally fulfill my promise of rewatching it, 2 decades later. xD

Every time I log in on xbox I check the recently added list to make sure they haven't acquired the license to another retro show.
But it seems the majority of the updates are just new language subtitles or dubs.
I really wish they would stop doing that.

I also from time to time check the entire catalogue to see if there is something I don't recognize.
Problem with that is there are a lot of shows that aren't even anime or dramas in their catalogue.
And more keep coming out every year that look horrid.

I just assume it's a crap algorithm and it weights toward whatever is popular and not already completed on your account.

Or maybe even without checking if it's completed on your account ...

It's always recommending My Hero Academia to me even though I got tired of that series and dropped it halfway through Season 3

So it's just recommending shows with no rhyme or reason other than one or two based on the genre of the show you just completed.

Well the shows have some extremely rudimentary tag descriptors visible. If that's all that's used, it would be pretty random.
