Don't get me wrong, I actually prefer it this way.
But after watching first episode I went to check the web manga and found out that all the uncensored elements are non-canon.
I thought it was an interesting design decision (and frankly, one that this type of show probably needs in order to boost its audience)

Or is there perhaps an alternative version of the web manga that I just haven't found yet?

The answer is pretty much the producers. WWWave corporation owns animefesta and they have been making these 12 minute ecchi series under their anime label "deregula" (which stands for deregulated, or uncensored pretty much) and then they can stream the deregulated on their site exclusively in Japan while putting up a regulated version on TV. I do wish they would do higher budget and full length stuff, but I can't really complain about any producer willing to do these kinds of things in the current environment so I'm still grateful.

Because the target audience likes it more this way.

That explains it. I actually described this to my brother as "it's 12 minute episodes, just like Yandere Dark Elf", didn't check to see if they were related production-wise.

Hahaha, and now I see that Makina is among them too. Guess I'll be keeping an eye on WWWave from now on...

Quite a strange idea that even when dressed the girls are drawn with ‘see thru’ clothes on occasion to increase the 👀 levels! It doesn’t pretend to be anything else and has a comedy porn plot that forces the intimate interactions so I see it as shameless fun for anyone to enjoy as long as they’re not in the office or watching with mom 😂

I wish this was the new trend so I could say that anime is healing. I like it.

Probably due to 2 out of 3 producers have worked on multiple really heavy ecchi shows and they decided that they would also put a lot of ecchi in this show too
