The way the writing was done was INSANE. They told Kagaya's story without telling it directly. The stone Hashira mentions how at 14 he was already headfast and leader-like, not at all with the composure of what a 14 year old should have. That is all we were directly told, along with Kaguya's last words to Muzan.

The rest was told through his remaining children, which had to survive through it all and continue his plans. The fact that 2 of the quadruplets agreed to stay behind to make Muzan think he caught them all off-guard must have hurt so much to the remaining twins. The implication alone about how strong identical twin bonds are and how devastating it would be for 2 to sacrifice themselves like that, and to top it all off with both parents leaving them all behind... all for the sake of the plan.. taking down Muzan when his guard is down... it was such a good plan that even Muzan questioned his morality... then his son shouldering the Ubuyashiki name all by himself, at such a young age after all this... you think about how young he and his sisters are... then you think of 14-year-old Kaguya.

How long ago had his father died? Did he have to go through something just as excruciating to become who he was?

We see his son honoring him and telling his sisters not to cry, when probably he is hurting as much as they are, if not more, as he is now the head of the clan and the rest of the plan rests with him. A mere child. Singlemindedly focused on killing Muzan.

And the story goes back in full circle. That is how Kaguya must have felt when it all was passed down to him.

I thought the writing of this was amazingly well done. I don't even know if I articulated my observations correctly yet because I'm still starstruck by the whole experience at the cinema. So many plots, so many stories told in this movie in so many different story writing techniques.

It was exquisite.
