Plot Summary

A poor baron daughter has lived under her sister's shadow, where she always had nothing. Her hair is full or hairballs, she doesn't have a single dress, and all she has are tattered clothes for work. Her sister receives the attention of a high rich noble, but she dies on the way to her marriage.

Marie is sent as a substitute bride for her sister because the baron cannot repay the already sold dowry to the earl. But... that's impossible? In the first place, the proposal was a misunderstanding? A beautiful and happy story of love about a fallen baron's daughter and an eloquent earl.

Cute and harmless. Well, except for the sister. She got axed out of the story pretty quick.

I give it some side eye for characters insisting the tall freckled redhead isn't attractive though.

Episode 1

What's a Cinderella to do? Marie is so used to her poor lifestyle thanks to the constant abuse her parents put her through, but at the very least she has the opportunity to escape her impoverished life thanks to Kyros, who actually loves her unlike with many other suitors who only wants to marry into wealth. And it all happened because her sister Anastasia who he was supposed to marry died in an accident on the way to meeting him. So hopefully the clock won't strike midnight, but she's got a lot to learn in order to act more royal. So far, this has been better than expected, but nothing more than popcorn entertainment.

Well, this is complete Hallmark Channel romance crap. Unfortunately for me, I am an absolute sucker for that kind of schmaltz. So I'm in for now.

Even though the show's conceit about her being "unlovely" and her parents blaming her for her sister's death makes no sense, I am down for her getting swept up in a "My Fair Lady" training regimen while the prince gets blue balls on the sidelines.

Well, that was easy. No fairy godmother or glass slippers needed. Marie just needs to get over her abysmal self-esteem. I don't see any reason to watch any more of... oh, wait a minute. I'm playing a game with the anime shows this season. If there's an episode with no significant character I like in an episode, I have to ditch the show. If there's a significant character I like in each episode, I have to keep watching. So, it looks like I'll keep watching this one. Well, it's not so bad.

I think this could be better without the whole Cinderella/Most Powerful Saint Sold To Another Country melodrama setup.

Aaaaand... THE END! Thanks for watching the short 24-minute 'Cinderella' themed story with a happy ending! xD

I don't see this show satisfying me in anyway, unless they give the inhumane parents of the FMC a very brutal and gruesome demise by the end.

The show didn't show a corpse so, It could still revealed that she actually faked her death to escape the force marriage (it could still happen; She seems to love someone else). But with the Cinderella MC already being in a much better place, I don't see the sister coming back adding anything to this helpless story.

The real main character of this show is actually Mio. She's the real hero here.

One of those shows where if people would just express themselves clearly everything would be solved. Mio is at least doing her best. The two new maids have an evil look - but it might just be the art style.

And yeah, I suspect the blonde sister is out there somewhere. Did they say the coach "fell?" (Into a ravine with a powerful stream no doubt, so no body was found? - Just speculating, they haven't shown anything but that broken wheel.)

Episode 2

And now, an episode focused mostly on Kyros as his father has married several ladies, but only Liu Liu produced a son while the others produced only daughters. Laura didn't take this news well and committed suicide going to show just how male-dominated society is. So after this meeting, Marie was prepared to return to her shabby lifestyle, but her parents wouldn't allow it, so he's now living with the Granado family for the foreseeable future and has Mio serving as a maid for her. This goes to show just how much of a headcase parents can be on their children, especially when it comes to royalty.

Episode 3

This is what living dirt poor can do to somebody when they suddenly find themselves in a position like what Marie is in. Of course, some people won't take her way of life well, but this is what Kyros wants. And that word chain game at the end, seeing that all the words are in English, is pretty amusing to say the least. And while Mio is being helpful, not so much with Ilza and Hannah.

I wonder if the two maids are being mean to her just to try and get her to stand up for herself or are they really just assholes.

I just knew Ilza and Hannah would be bitches. I'm curious who "recommended" them. I'm fairly sure that revelation will be significant.

@SparkyBob Could be mom. She seemed to think Marie needed to toughen up if I remember right.

Episode 4

Way to show Ilza and Hannah that they are a disgrace to maids, and leave it to Marie for being resourceful as she doesn't really need a maid given how self-sufficient she has been all her life. And then comes Luiphon, who Kyros has known for a long time and is close friends with him. These guys are trying to spoil Marie like crazy, but Marie doesn't really need it to that extent.

Marie being a milquetoast is starting to wear thin. I hoped when she was marching through the crowd of rivals that something dramatic was about to happen, but all she did was open a door and and then fade into the wallpaper again.

And those green highlights in her red hair just aren't working. I still like the show, I just want her to grow a pair (figuratively.)

@SparkyBob I am guessing imposter.

I was hoping she faked her death knowing that Marie was the one Kyros really wanted. Seems pretty unfair that Abastasia died when she was the only one in that family who loved Marie.

this is looking more likely right now. Either that or her father tried to sell her off to a higher bidder.

Jeeze, I know they've been working through her trauma and self-image issues, but about damn time.

Props to Luiphon for getting her to speak her feelings aloud, even if he had to be a jerk to make it happen.

Looks like they consumated the relationship and it didn't seem to bother her one bit. Maybe a threesome with the sister

The whole situation with her parents seems way too contrived.

Seems like her grandmother was a part of the problem. Why didn't her grandmother teach her son to read and write? Why was she so mad at Anastasia for reading to Marie? It's all just weird.

The precept that having an assistant write business letters is a major crime is a bit hard to buy. As is the inference that as big a dick as her father is, that's the worst thing he's done? I could easily see him as someone guilty of embezzlement, misuse of royal property, or non-payment of taxes. Even enslavement and torture (as evinced by his treatment of Marie.) I'll enjoy seeing him be brought low (if she doesn't cop out with a "forgiveness" ending, which I suspect is likely) but saying "He never learned Flarian so he's had me handling his correspondence" hardly makes me clutch my pearls.
