Which was most preferable?

I mainly watch anime in sub. It's kind of a habit of my ๐Ÿ˜Š. But here in "The Boy and the Heron", I am really confused... obviously Ghibli did this so the Japanese VA cast and their work would be great. Again, at the same time, there are Robert Pattinson, Willem Dafoe, Florence Pugh and Dave Bautista, they are also great actors. That's why I am in a dilemma should I watch in dub or sub? So, I like to know which one was more enjoyable or preferable.

I saw both in theaters and while both are excellent, I actually preferred the dub.

I will always choose sub over dub, because sub version is the original one. Dub sounds a little different (another language spoken, not Japanese) and I do not like it. Although, we have different tastes.

Pattinson’s insane work makes me prefer the dub slightly more

yeah, I know it good to watch the original. But Ghibli is different 'cuz they always cast some big names Hollywood actors in their's project. Although, I watched Ponya, Whisper of the heart, Wind Rises and some more ( maybe) in dub.

So, I understood your word, still I want to know what people prefer most only on this anime. thnx for your opinion.

You’re right, we are not here to judge other people’s preferences. Some of us prefer watching dub version, while others prefer sub. I thought if movies were made by Hayao Miyazaki or another Japanese producer, it is best to watch in sub, because it is original and the story, characters are also made by Japanese cast, even if there are a lot of foreign actors from Hollywood.

I wish you all the best. Whether the version, The Boy and The Heron is a great movie, I’ve watched it at the cinema in premiere and I was impressed by Hayao’s new creation.
