Stories where a person who caused pain/trauma for the hero comes back

There are lots of stories where someone says or does something that deeply hurts or traumatizes the hero, giving him all kinds of problems that follow him afterward. I'd say about 95% it's a girl that the hero thought of as a friend or even had a crush on, and she said to him or someone else something incredibly dismissive and hurtful toward him. Regardless, I've hardly seen any where the source of the trauma returns and the hero has a chance to confront her/him after recovery. Thought I'd request it since My Dress-Up Darling just brought one such character in, finally brining back the little girl who'd cried and called Gojo gross for liking his grandfather's Hina dolls.
