Leaves it up to the imagination whether or not Nero killed him. Maybe explained in manga/light novel. I personally think he let him live.

what i understood from the ending is it's kinda left to the audience to choose the ending
he killed or didn't killed him it's up to you
otherwise i don't know i couldn't find any tips left for audience for the ending if you did share please

Hes definitely dead. What else could that mean? They of course would cut out the main character getting shot for shock factors.

I interpreted as Angelo was dead he said so in the end that his life is empty and he wanted Nero to end it in not so many words.
otherwise why didn't Angelo kill Nero all those times before?

It's really up to the audience to decide, it's very open ended. I believe that the screenshot you sent is not truly how it ends, that's before Angelo got hospitalized and that's where it dimly ends. Although I watched it a while back, so.

Theres never an OVA for this anime in my book.
He kill Nero, bitter sweet ending, done.

As everyone said , the ending is left to the interpretation of the viewer on purpose.

There is no Mangas. (91 Days is an Original Anime)

It got a few very short Novels afterward tho , but they are all side-stories. One of them is an Epilogue about Cerotto tho.
In it , Cerotto meets Nero years later. Cerotto believes Nero did killed Angelo , and that Nero search somewhere to die too.

The OVA is composed of 2 side-stories taking place before Episode 01 , and 1 taking place just after Episode 04.
There is no hints regarding a possible ending here.

you decide if they are dead or alive, personally i believe that nero didnt shoot angelo but he decided to kill himself in the sea, as we can see the footprints desappearing without any trace of blood.
as for nero, killed by the guy that was chasing them from the beggining of the episode, is not like they are good guys after all
btw, awesome anime, top 5 in my opinion

I think it was mostly about how you would choose your reason for lliving. Whether it's important to revenge or move on.

We know Nero didn't kill anjelo the first time but he said he would do it now because he will do anything for the family and thinks he is head strong enough to do so.

But in the end when both his father and anjelo told him that all they did and all the people they killed was for nothing, he truly understands the absurdity of the life...

And he and anjelo took the same trip together to show how they were in a same path now that they both lost everything and everyone.

I think the ending was open ended to let us choose if revenge still matters or should the bloodshed be stopped already. And whatever you choose, should be your choice cause you will live with the consequences. I believe the final smile of Nero was to indicate that he accepted his choice as his (whichever it was) and will live freely.

Sorry if I made it too philosophical.🤷‍♀️
