Just completed few minutes ago and saw the amount of members but there where only 78k people watched this anime. Beautiful animation, good story telling and so good characters. I wish more people watch this anime

I recently watched and felt the same way, it's amazing! It is probably due to the competitive season it aired during and some people making assumptions of what it would be like based on the name "Pretty Boy Detective Club." This was definitely one of my favorites last year tho.

People are too quick to compare it to other Shaft works. On its own it's actually a pretty decent anime worthy of way more attention than it got.

For me, the only enjoyable thing about this anime was the animation and the songs, other than that, the plot and characters were clichéd and boring

How? Not hating, I just really can't see how it is cliche
Everyone has a different way of enjoying anime, you aren't superior for watching some kind or other

100% agree! It was one of the anime I looked forward to the most every week. I wish it’d get another season, but looking at the numbers the likelihood of that seems close to zero, sadly

PBDC had a lot of potential but it wasn’t great. They introduced characters like Lai, the Twenties, and Soutouin, and they totally dropped them just as quickly. This anime could have been very good if it wasn’t so rushed and half-assed. I liked it, was just very disappointed.

For me, It was decent. It felt like a drag to watch but in the end, I have pretty fond memories of it lol. I dislike slice of life though, so it might affect how I liked it. Animation was good, and I love me some boy legs. Main character I hated. The first arc was boring. Not a 10 but a decent 7-8 for me. I think it was overlooked cause of the '5 boys 1 girl' thing.

It's carried by shaft. The characters are a bit bland despite being somewhat entertaining. Not enough to keep my attention very well, I think a lot if people feel the same way. While the twists are fun they don't feel engaging enough to hit home for me and probably others.

The behaviors of the characters were predictable for me and I felt that I had seen them before, but this is just my opinion.

The flow of the episodes and story telling really resembled the bakamonogatari series for me. A smooth fluid running scene with quick flash clips of funny jokes/ modern day comparison to those people we know exist. I really wish they would’ve taken their time with the series. With the 20 and rival bosses it had all the makings for an anime version of kill bill lol. Bottom line I definitely enjoyed it and I know a few people who probably googled a few words just for the sake of curiosity as to how many others before them did the same.

This anime is definitely not underrated. Since its one of the most boring show i have watched and characters are pretty annoying.

Not really, i have liked many slice of life anime that has more talk than action.

Probably wrong marketing. When I started watching it I thought it will be Monogatari for girls. But its literally for guys again. It should be reflected when advertised....as a woman I find it unappealing.
