| I guess we don't need such a thread here, because we already have "why do you like Kirino" thread that explains everything, and I don't think Kirino needs someone's defending, if someone hates her this is up to himher, to enjoy OreImo full scale or to suffer and to bear it. The story is finished, the light novels and anime are finished, you can't do something other than love it or just forget about it. I believe that arguing about Kirino is just pointless and doesn't matter, this is just a waste of time. Everyone have their own opinions and sometimes people just don't want to listen to you because of shipping or something like that. You can always find a reason to hate someone if you want. And one reason why Kirino is great character in general is the fact that ppl hate her itself, because this is how author had made her, and he did great job, it was a success. If author wanted Kirino to be likable by everyone he would do something, but that definitely wasnt his intention, he just created her suited for the situation he thought of. We should also take to account that anime cuts a lot of stuff from the LN and ppl should't judge by anime (that most do) |

| About the people who hate her: some complain she's too much like a Mary Sue, too little miss perfect. But that's the whole point. She's supposed to be irritatingly perfectionist overachiever who can do so many things and look beautiful. It's a huge plot point, important part of the story, of why and how she became like that and how that affects everyone around her and herself. Personally it rang true to me cause I've seen a lot of brilliant real people like that and felt envy just cause I'm not as determined to do stuff I want to do. (It's the same when people complain Kyousuke is too plain/uninteresting... that's the whole point, done on purpose cause he's obsessed with "normalcy" at first, it's an important part of the story.) And yeah, a huge part of it is some people don't find her aggressive personality appealing. That's totally subjective, I love it. What I think is pathetic is when people, specially "critics" who should check their biases, talk about her like it's a FACT that she's unlikeable and no one could possibly like her. |
