Main character becomes a womanizing badass

Basically I am looking for an anime where the main character starts out a relatively weak and unknown guy who is terrible with women. Then he tries to get a girl and is hurt or something maybe or just decides he is tired of being a loser so he leaves town and tries to become a baddass/womanizer. He returns at a later time. As far his changing it can be done over several episodes or maybe just he leaves returns in one episode although that is a bit short. But you get the idea Guy goes from loser to badass womanizer then returns to his roots. A bit cliched but I have seen this in some movies and liked it and I am curious to see how it will play out as anime. Anyways thanks in advance!

It's old (1994) and isn't quite what you're looking for in terms of how the guy gets to being a womanizer, but otherwise it fits.
