| Ok....in my French class today we were learning about how to say what the weather was like. French is a bit similar to Japanese, 'cuz the whole L=R thing is the same...ANYWAYS! to say that the weather is cool, u'd say (keep in mind chance are, I'm not spelling this correctly...) "Frei" or "Flei" pronounced like "Flay" like Flay from Gundam Now i don't watch Gundam....but i do know that Flay is a total jerk!! (i got a friend who loves Gundam and hates Flay with a burning passion, so i know a good generalization of the kinda' stuff she's done....) So i think that's a bit odd that her name would translate to cold... Opinions? |

| I think saying the weather is cool in French would sound like "Il fais frais"; frais does not really sound like Flay, though I haven't heard it in Japanese to know for sure. And just so you know, frais also translates to fresh, but it does not entirely hold the same meaning as cool in English (you can't say "that's cool") |

| It's actually gundam seed, which is why I moved the thread here. Also, please keep obscenely large pictures in spoiler tags. :) I don't know anything about her name, and it's translations, but to me she seemed like the average teenager. An obnoxious brat. (Maybe it's because of the neighbourhood I grew up in, dispute me if you will on whether most teenagers are obnoxious brats if you will.) That said, I still like flay, in a way, I feel sorry for her. She would have lived a very prosperous life had she not been dragged into the conflict. She would have been one of the 'cool' kids, you know? With the shiny cars. |
