I think it would be a good idea to be able to sort the "Tags" column on lists alphabetically/numerically by clicking on it, like how anime titles or scores can be ordered. This would allow people to more easily view their list, especially if they want to sort anime by year, studio, or personal score for which they use tags.

Tags are currently broken, so until something else is to be implemented on them , they should be fixed.

As a side-note, a temporary fix was made, only to make them work properly, so no sorting, but it helps you maintain your list quite efficiently.

Thanks for the help, but I meant it as more of a way to compare parts of your list (ex. sorting custom score tags numerically to see how you rated anime or to see how much anime you've watched of each studio compared to others).

Even if you can't sort, practically you can still gather statistics using the fix.

For studios, more comprehensive, list-wide statistics and so on, there's always MALgraph. You don't need tags for a lot of things as long as you have it.

Yeah I guess so, but MALgraph doesn't allow you to see what you've seen from each studio or specific years...

Oh well, thanks anyways, it's not a big deal really.

Ehh, you're such a nitpicker xD

But still, we're back to the fix. After installing the fix, on the top of your list a box containing all (your placed) tags will be present. Simply select the studio you want to collect the data. Of course, you have to do that manually, but implementing a sort would not relieve you of that.

As for years, you don't need tags. In list preferences you can enable the start/end dates row, which will basically add two rows containing the date you started and the date you finished the respective anime. For it to work you need to add the start and end dates of each anime though (something which unfortunately you haven't done:( ) but it will allow you to sort dates then. Not mentioning that start and end dates will help populate the MALgraph year tracker which will show you the your most active dates and such (take mine for example - at the bottom) or use the myanimegraph timeline to see the periods when you watched anime.

Yeah it's sorta silly :P

I guess I'll just do that... it's better than nothing...

I meant more like original airdate of the anime.

Thanks for taking the time to reply and help me with my post. I really appreciate it :D

I suppose instead of adding the date when you started watching an anime, you could add the date of when it aired.

While MAL still needs a lot of functionality, it already has a lot of hidden (as in not easy to find or use) tools and functions. You just need to fiddle with them a bit in order to make them suit your tastes, I guess :D

There are a lot of people giving their time to supplement some of those tools, creating something very useful (examples like MALgraph, myanimehraph.k.vu and MALUpdater being some of them) for everyone.

Bump, I rate my anime on a 100 scale using my tags. It would be useful to see a more accurate listing of my scores. If there is a way to work around it I would also be ready to try.

You would need a custom script for this, as your tagging conventions are yours alone.

If you know javascript, you could write a greasemonkey script or bookmarklet to do the job.
