I watched Quantum through about 30 times in one sitting while reading Legend of the Twilight and playing Mutation because .Hack// is the best.

After a while, I tried to determine if Quantum is canon and where it happened in the timeline. I was never 100% certain whether it was canon but I felt it happened very last, after Roots.

For those who aren't familar with "canon", it means "part of the storyline". For example, the manga Bracelet of the Twilight is canon and consistent with the .Hack// world, but the anime was not and is just based off of the world and characters and never happened during the original timeline.

Somebody better at this, explain.<3

I don't see why not. It's not contradicting any elements from the other series.

The endless debate between fans and haters. At one point, after spending a lot of time on MAL, you just realize it's totally pointless.

On MAL, everyone who has used the lame rating system becomes a critic and an intellectual by default, haven't you heard?
