SPOILERS OF THE NOVEL. Source: http://fmerd.deviantart.com/journal/42495301/ [WARNING: huge spoilers + ending below the cut] Thanks to Good Haro and the others who contributed to this list! Ready? Go! Mouse Real name: Unknown Age: Unknown (but in the first episode of the anime the VC wanted announcement on Shion’s bracelet says that he’s 12, the same age as Shion) Height: 178cm Weight: 68kg Blood Type: O VC-103221 He has ash grey eyes. Also a beautiful voice, handsome face and he’s an actor. The name “Mouse” was given to him by an old woman. He uses the name “Eve” on stage. Shion’s very honest feelings are directed at him and while it perplexes him at first, eventually they become close. When Shion kills Rashi in self-defense, he cries saying, “I’ve turned you into a criminal.” He’s bright and has the animal-like ability to sense danger, and has managed to survive well in the West Block. Close knife combat is his forte. In regard to No. 6, 12 years ago his parents and friends were killed in the Mao Genocide. His back was scalded and he developed a keloid scar. Ever since he’s harbored a hatred and desire for revenge against No. 6. At that time, Mouse’s people were an ethnic group called the “Forest People.” He was rescued and raised by an old woman of the same race. When he turned 12, he was sent off to the “Moon Drop” as a research subject (as the last of the forest people) by the old woman. He escaped using the knife she gave him and ran into Shion’s house severely wounded. He breaks into the correctional facility with Shion, destroying the center. He nearly dies protecting Shion, but manages to recover after Shion rescues him. He has the power to speak as an equal with Eliurias {nfc, wild guess}, and manages to persuade him in the city hall. After No. 6 crumbles, he gives Shion an oath kiss{don’t know what this means in the context of No. 6, maybe something to do w/ Mouse’s culture?} and leaves. Eliurias A lifeform that lived in the land of the Forest People which is vastly superior to humans. It is a human parasite which has the ability to completely control its host without them noticing. They look like bees. Their biology is not understood. They live in the brains of animals (humans are the most suitable hosts). The Forest People revered them as “gods.” In order to gain the power of the Eliurias, No. 6 launched an invasion which resulted in the “Mao Genocide.” They become the mother computer of the correctional facility. Inukashi Someone who lives in the West Block. Age, sex and name all unknown. 145 cm tall. Weighs 38kg. Blood type O. Younger than Shion and Mouse. Inukashi’s sex is never explicitly mentioned, but she’s believed to be female based on the description of a “roundness on the chest.” She’s short, only coming up to Shion’s shoulder. She has long hair and dark skin. She works as an information broker, dog lender {lit: inu-kashi; hurr more bad name puns} and a smuggler of goods from the correctional facility. She was raised by dogs, and as a result seems to be able to understand dogs’ barks and feelings. After the man hunt {this seems to be an event as far as I can tell}, in the ruins of an abandoned building she reluctantly accepts a baby from Shion (entrusted to one of her dogs). She names it “Shion” and takes care of it. She and Rikiga help Mouse and Shion escape the correctional facility. Safu Height: 155cm Weight: 45kg Birthday: 6/12/01 Citizen Registration Number: SSC-00124GJ She ranked in the top intellegence class during her 2-year exam {since no one understood this before, this is an exam done on No. 6 children when they’re 2-years-old} like Shion did. She’s a childhood friend of Shion who attended the same school as him until she was 10. Her parents died young so she lives with her grandmother. Her specialty is biology (specifically neurobiology). She’s an all A honor student. She fell in love with Shion and when she turned 16, she was going to study abroad in another city, but just before she left her grandmother died. As a result she withdrew her study abroad application. She tried to search for Shion who’d escaped to the West Block, but was captured by the Ministry of Peace. After she shows Mouse and Shion how to escape, they entrust her with the duty of blowing up the mother computer. She doesn’t regret helping Shion escape, and in her final moment she smiles amidst the voices of the Eliuria. (Damn Safu is more of a boss than I thought!) ———Oh man, I started reading Shion’s entry and the whole Safu thing sounds even sadder: >「人狩り」に巻き込まれる形で、ネズミと共に矯正施設に潜入。エリウ リアスと融合した紗布の導きで中枢部を破壊する Shion breaks into the correctional facility with Mouse when he gets dragged into the “man hunt.” There they destroy the center of the facility with Safu, who has been fused with the Eliurias, guiding them. So, I now realize that I mis-read part of the Safu bit because her entry didn’t bother to mention that she was fused with the Eliurias––she asked Shion and Mouse to blow it up ———Safu goes looking for Shion, the Ministry of Peace catches her and puts her in the facility. She’s fused with the Eliurias––(this part is speculation) either because this is standard procedure for the prisoners there or because she was an elite and they coul use her maybe?, but in any case she’s fused with them. She some how retains enough free will to help Shion and Mouse before basically asking them to kill her. More or less, the standard SF look-what-they’ve-done-to-me-please-kill-me-now just with bees instead of the usual shit. Ending Spoilers ————————————- Yes, Nezumi left at the end of Volume 9. He gave Shion a parting kiss and a promise they would meet again one day, while Shion said the next time they meet he wouldn’t let Nezumi go again. But what most people missed is, at the real end of No. 6, the very last scene of the novel is actually Shion opened the window and welcomed Nezumi back.”Come in, Nezumi.” - From someone of LJ that’s read the novels However, another source took the ending a bit differently> There is an epilogue, about the aftermath of NO.6’s destruction and the subsequent rebuiilding that Shion’s heavily involved in. But Nezumi never appears in it. The part about Shion opening the window does happen - but it’s simply just him opening it (a la the their first meeting in vol. 1) and waiting to welcome him back. Either way it’s implied they’ll meet again. |

Source : http://sebasu.tumblr.com/, I really hope this will be in the anime or at least in the manga “I know that sort of thing! But I just worry about you. Can’t I worry about you? Don’t I have the right to worry about you?” “Right… what are you saying, Shion?” “You’re forcing me to!” Shion clenched his fist and hit the bookshelf. A mountain of accumulated books toppled over. Cravat (the mouse) squeaked and hid within Nezumi’s clothes. “Sorry, I got too excited… I didn’t mean to yell at you like that.” “Not at all, your excited expression is rather alluring. If the opportunity arises, I’d like to see it again.” “Being together with you, I seem to frequently get excited. It turns out I’m such an emotional person. I even scared myself.” “You’ve always been emotional by nature, with your emotions reigned in by your sense of reason. It’s not shameful to freely go along with one’s emotions. Four years ago as well, while you were still a No.6 elite, you complied with your feelings… and accepted me.” It was said with a barely audible whisper. Shion lowered his head and leaned over. His lips lightly pressed against Nezumi’s lips. Clatter! The sound of a book falling from somewhere resounded. Nezumi lifted his head and asked “This isn’t a kiss showing your gratefulness, is it?” “It’s only a good night kiss.” “Oh… good night.” “Tomorrow I’d like to help give the dogs a fur trim. There’s a lot of long-haired dogs, but Inukashi just leaves them there. Their furs’ all knotted. They’ll get dermatitis at this rate.” “I just got bitten. So regardless of whether it’s long-haired or short-haired, I don’t want to hear about the dogs.” Shion laughed and waved. “Then good night.” “Hm, sweet dreams.” “You too.” Shion disappeared behind the books. Perhaps since he wished to sleep together with Shion, Cravat burrowed out of Nezumi’s clothes and followed Shion up. “Good night kiss, was it?” Nezumi leaned back in his armchair and gently caressed his lips with his fingers. “So it seems you know how to lie too.” In an instant the hunger, the fatigue, the pain from his wound all dissipated. In its place, other feelings slowly surged forth from within his body. It was difficult to distinguish whether those feelings were sorrow or loneliness. What was this? Suddenly he felt warm droplets slide down his cheek. Only after quite some time passed, did he realize they were tears. I’ve long forgotten how to cry. So salty. Like a soup with too much salt added. Nezumi hugged his legs close and lowered his head. Slowly, he drank the tears that fell to his mouth. |
