| A quality week. So much quality, so few votes to allocate. Welcome to the NHK - Youkoso! Hitori Bocchi - Quintessential song about loneliness, IMO. Tender, melancholic, great acoustic guitar, great vocals. +1 Witch Hunter Robin - Say Goodbye - I think Iwasaki is best with these types of songs. A sweeping, sad song that's really in the moment. +1 Vampire Knight - FORBIDDEN ACT - Oh man, I'd forgotten how good the music of Vampire Knight could be at times. This song is just so melodramatic, which perfectly matches the mood of the anime. Macross Frontier - Alto's Theme - Does Yoko Kanno ever make bad music? I just wish there was enough votes to go around. Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - Main Title - A good song, but the irony of the situations it's generally played in comes to the fore, so it's a little harder to take seriously. Jigoku Shoujo - Kumo to Rouba to Shoujo - Haven't seen Jigoku Shoujo, but all I can think of while listening to this song is, goddamn, I can't wait for the Shiki OST to come out. Noir - Solitude By The Window - A standard Kajiura fare. Not a bad song, but I know she's capable of better. Mushishi - Pleasing Sights, Vile Sights - Atmospheric, like every song on the Mushishi soundtrack. +1 Casshern Sins - Roamer - What a week. Another song I'd just love to give votes to. Serial Experiments Lain - Duvet - One of the best anime theme songs ever made. Brilliant. +3 |
