hey guys I finished season 1 of this show long ago and didn't skip any filler and I am filled with questions

1) is season 2 faithful to the manga
2) what s the deal with season 3,4 and 5(as listed on mal) are they faithful to the manga or are they a remake (a forum on mal suggested this)
3) Anime or Manga(provide reasons)

I know these are a lot of questions but i genuinely want to get back into this show. I also want this forum to resolve all queries regarding this show as I couldn't find anything on reddit.

1) Yes. Season 2 is canon. However, after ep 17 of Season 1 is not canon/faithful to the manga. Basically S1 episodes 18- 25 aren't canon. Season 2 picks up where ep 17 left off.

2) Seasons 3, 4 and 5 are also canon. The only difference is that the studio has changed. So the characters and animation are different. It's no longer A-1 pictures. As a manga reader, seasons 1 (ep 1-17), 2, 3, 4 and 5 are canon. There's just a difference in quality for seasons 3, 4 and 5.

3) Manga. I prefer the manga simply because the anime (like most animes) leaves a few things out. Every anime tends to cut stuff. But as for the anime adaption for this, I don't think it's that bad honestly. It still follows the story faithfully. I suggest you try season 3 to see if you like the new style of the characters and animation. I think seasons 4 and 5 are better-looking than season 3.

1. I would say season 2 is about as close as the series gets to manga faithful, but it's still not perfect

2. seasons 3-5 adapt volumes 10-25 (excluding 24). They aren't a remake, but they also aren't faithful to the manga, cutting character moments, removing an entire arc, rushing plot points, etc (excluding 5 because aside from cutting vol 24, it's paced perfectly)

3. I'd highly recommend the manga, as the transition from season 1 to 2 is jarring due to anime original content, the cut moments and entire arcs from seasons 3-5, and overall, having experienced both, I personally think the manga was a better experience, as it became one of my favorite mangas while the anime isn't even close to being rated highly.

I may be wrong about the exact number in season 1 where it starts to become non-canon. But the important thing is, is that the ending for season 1 is entirely different from the manga.

Season 2 decides to ignore that ending, and starts adapting the manga faithfully again.

nothing on reddit I found out half of episode 17 season 1 was cannon and 18 and the rest was original filler they even said what time in the episode to stop and go to season 2, episode 17 stop before it goes to the school scene I think it's around 17 minutes where the girl was talking to one of the brothers surrounded by concrete walls where he was practicing something idk that's what I remember season 2 and the rest is cannon the movie is technically cannon but it's hard to place it when it happen someone said the movie takes place in season 1
