I think it was very solid, Lazarus had lot of potential but i have to agree. The ending was bad like that thing about that they are imune was i dont know they could not add that.

I mean the ending was flat too and it was obvious "they saved the world And things like that" meaby they could spice it a bit.

But even with that it Is good anime ill recomend it to starters because Its pretty Short And nothing what to think about.

Great anime

It was good, but boring at times especially the middle or the second act of the story. It also had a rough beginning, but had a fantastic ending in my opinion. The only characters I really enjoyed and cared about were Axel and Leland. The rest were forgettable and boring to me.

nah the ending is actually the peak of the show, overall I'd give it 7.5/10.

It really needed a higher episode count tbh. Probably would have given the story and world-building more time to grow, especially with regards to other Watanabe anime like Bebop. His stories aren't the kinda thing you can confine to 13 episodes.

If it was 24 eps it could have given the characters a deeper backstory but the only real point I didn't like was how obvious they made the reveal in eps 3 I think it was. The didn't even have to get rid of the short scene entirely just make it way less in your face.

And for those comparing it to Bebop, I think they were about equal in rating but not the in the same ways. Bebop did some things better while Lazarus did others better.

what really ruined my enjoyment of the show is how chill everyone was about the world basically ending. it bothered me how everyone talked throughout the show like their futures were guaranteed and not about to possibly end in a few days. no one, to the mc's or the general population seemed that concerned ! i was flabbergasted watching everyone just peacefully walking around going to work in the city the day before everyone would start dying (i also agree with how out of place the ending felt and slow pacing issues)

This was a promising show. The ending was horrid, in my opinion. I think it was the second or third episode, and I figured out where Skinner was. The entire time, I was wondering why they didn't see him. The episodes were good. It's still a show worth watching, but it's a terrible ending.

The anime world feels lifeless; the world is set to be destroyed in 30 days, yet there is no reaction from anyone. The army is attempting to kill the members of Lazarus instead of helping to locate Dr. Skinner. While the story has some potential, it's not particularly strong.

I think that was on purpose. it was Hapna that dulled physical and mental pains, to the point where people would be aware of their own impending doom and just go on about their usual lives.

I've seen a number of articles that explain this better than I did

@SterlingDWatts It that was true we won't see much protests in the first episode or even hospitals collapsed due to Hapna efects since they won't care much. Lazarus isn't even a supernatural series, it "tries" to be realistic yet its the one of the most unrealistic end-of-the-world scenarios I've seen in Anime. Even other sci-fi or even supernatural series have better end-of-the-world scenarios. Considering its the main plot, its very disappointing. Honestly, the Hapna drug could be just not public and it would make slighty more sense since it could be treated as a conspiracy theory of people dying for Hapna rather than public knowledge.
BANZAI NIPPON. Nippon is the Land of freedom. Nippon is the Land of Peace. Nippon is the Land of Justice and Prosperity.

In Nippon, we trust.

We love Nippon, we love Anime. Anime love us, Nippon love us. 日本

@ToumaTachibana You nailed it, I feel the same way. It's just not a very well thought out end-of-the-world scenario.

People trying to explain it away as Hapna Is A Magical Pill That Takes The Pain Away is a very weak excuse IMO. The show doesn't spend much time on explaining what exactly Hapna does so it's hard to buy.

As you said, the big issue is that it's a show that tries very hard to feel realistic (and does succeed in a lot of ways) but then also suffers as a result due to the core plot element being a giant thumbsuck.
