However, in contrast to his mother, Yuu is completely talentless. Being seen as completely mediocre, he would have no chance of standing side by side with the three emperors of Saika Academy: the Mikadono sisters, Miwa, Nico, and Kazuki, who are each prodigies in shogi, martial arts, and performing arts, respectively. With Subaru's friend agreeing to take her son in, Yuu aims to fulfill his mother's last wish to him, which is to build a happy family, after never being able to form a proper mother-son relationship due to their difference in talent. As it turns out, his mother's friend is actually the father of the Mikadono sisters! Keeping his mother's wish in mind, Yuu aims to build familial bonds with the siblings. | Episode 1 Yu is a fish out of water here as he transfers into a prestigious school for the talented thanks to his mother's influence, but he's totally talentless. Even so, he's skilled at household chores and it just so happens that his late mother is a longtime friend of Mr. Mikadono and as such, Yu is placed in his family's care where he's dealing with three sisters who are prodigies in their discipline, but they aren't exactly getting along with each other and are making a mess in the massive Mikadono mansion. No wonder why Yu is at this school seeing that somebody needs to look over these sisters and he can't do so attending a different school. Interesting start here, and let's see where things go. |
| Well, this feels like Love Hina mixed with To Love Ru, with a dash of Quintessential Quintuplets. Kind of tropey, not what I would expect from P.A. Works, but I'll likely see it through. Edit: just noticed there are 2 episodes today, weird because the second episode didn't autoplay for me |
| Wow, the show managed to come up with four main characters who I dislike. I don't have the patience to wait around for any positive character development, so I won't be watching. |

| The show is sincere in its emotions, as is the MC. Gradually winning over the edgy sisters is something I'm willing to watch, at least so far. And as I suspected, this ED was sung by the actress voicing Nico. Miwa's probably next week, and then I can try to decide (as with the Makine EDs) which one I like best. (For me, in Makine, the Lemon one was best, and not just because of the visuals. But they were all pretty good.) |
| It really feels like they're pushing to pair him up with Nico. Of course every girl will have their chance, but if this is only 12 or 13 episodes, Nico's got a hell of a lead. However, I notice two other girls in the OP now - not sure if they were always there - and I wonder if they'll have time to fit them in. I realize expecting a definite pairing from a harem anime is a pretty remote possibility, but I can always hope. One problem is that Yu is almost ridiculously mid. He's the kind of guy who will make a good husband and a sensible girl would do well to "settle" for him, but for passionate and exceptional teenagers, he lacks romantic verve. |

| That was a mostly fun show, and I looked forward do it every week. I am not sure there is much more they can do with it, but I would take another season 7/10 |
| I found it an okay watch but the dickish dad never did get resolved, which for me was the most important issue. They can't just keep throwing more girls into the mix to freshen things up. I'm somewhat ambivalent about a second season, even assuming there will be one. |
