If I could describe this anime into 1 sentence would be: how not to do a romcom anime. This anime feels like all the things that all romcom anime has in common but in one anime but worse. All the scenes that this anime has its a scene that ive already see in another anime (but better). One thing that i cant handle are the "accidents" that for one thing or another ends up in an awkward but very very expected moment. You can easily predict whats going to happen (and ends up as expected... but WORSE). For example the most typical accident in all romcoms anime. Trip and fall near the face almost kissing. Which this happens multiple times... and predictable.
Did I mention that this anime is very predictable? Lol
Another thing. The characters. Also very clicheish and hateable (ahem mona kawaii ahem)
This anime has nothing special nor something relevent.
Also bad quality animation wise

Just wanted to vent a bit. Few animes make me mad

when I read the manga It was pretty good but the anime is somehow really boring, I don't know what happened

Most shows are predictable, They mostly just follow a formula that's successful that someone earlier created. The only real difference is do you like the characters and setting with it. Not really much to complain about it. If you didn't like it that's good too. Just go on to the next one or start watching a different genre.

I agree and support this 100%

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

Bad anime is unnecessarily provocative, more mundane than bad. As I enjoy most anime with cute characters and a touch of humour, this is excellent for me although I’m aware it follows a lot of standard tropes. That’s ok as the execution is mostly above average. I’d even watch another season because why not?

Same with the manga and this is coming from someone that has been reading the manga since early 2024.
The manga was good in the beginning but it took a nosedive and it's slowly becoming Rent A Girlfriend 2.0.

I think this is a very solid romcom with cute characters, fanservice, and a nice sense of humor. Best romcom of the season in my book.

Manga is better than most anime out there. So, the answer is obvious however that doesn't mean the anime isn't enjoyable.

I just can't get over the fact it's not a full blown ecchi, feels pointless as it is.

I love it and have it at a 10/10 rating. I'm following the dub because of the funny southern accent Mona has in it so I'm at episode 9.

I read the manga and felt the same way about Mona. Watching this anime, reading the posts and ratings based around how the story and characters who make it unpleasant is reassuring.
Honestly, I was interested in how accurate the adaptation would be. It's probably the only good aspect I can notice from the anime.
If we get a second season, I wonder what everyone would think of it.

Dude, go watch another genre. All romantic comedy anime have these things you hate.
Honestly, I enjoyed watching this anime and it made me laugh in a few scenes, but the negative thing for me is that no girl would persistently pursue such a lonely guy with a completely ordinary appearance who has no special moral qualities., and that was unrealistic for me.
